Hi
please how can I create a blog with different users, not just for a single user ? I read a lot of posts about it, but all time unclear. A solution seems possible with the Taxonomy access control.
How can I do that ?
Thank's

Raf Raf,
No taxonomy access control needed for that.
1. Go to: http://your-site-name.com/admin/build/modules and turn on the blog module; it is in the "Core - optional" section.
2. Go to: http://your-site-name.com//admin/user/access and check the box "edit own blog" for the user role you want to allow to be able to have a blog.
[As an aside, it's quite curious to me that there is even a check box available for the "anonymous" role.]

This doesn't answer the need.
With blog module, each user can edit only his own blog, while there's a need here for a blog with multiple users.
I'd suggest using a custom content type, and give edit privileges to multiple users.
Another solution is using OG, since a multiple user blog can be described, or thought of, as a working group.

Hello,
I have a related but even more simple question: how can a posting, a blog or story, have more than one authors? It does not help that other people can change an entry afterwards, it would be good to allow multiple authors in the first place. We are starting up something which is aiming at becoming more like a freewheeling peer reviewed journal and often people write papers together

I think you should separate "author" as the person who wrote the article, and "author" as the Drupal user who created the content. The first could be achieved as a CCK field. The second - possible with a wiki.

I saw CCK mentioned but you can also use taxonomy (category) for this. Create a vocabulary container of publication-id (single entry) and another of author (multiple entry). Create a content type journal and associate the two vocabulary containers.

Regarding Raf Raf's initial question, as Zohar pointed out, I believe I misunderstood the need. Zohar's solutions are good, but there is also another one to add to the list...
Stick with blog module as I originally suggested and use Views to filter for all the blog posts, no matter who the author is. Actually, you'll need to use this technique as well for Zohar's suggestion to use a custom content-type.

I have done that now but of course that has no effect on the original author field. In the newly created author category I can list author names which I have previousloy added to the vocabulary. unfortunately it does not let me select multiple authors although I have checked that option in the taxonomy settings. And, once this works, how do I get this to become listed as the author field in the output of the finished 'article' (content type which I have created).
Maybe I need to go into CCK and Views in the end? sorry to bother everyone with such simple questions

Did you make sure ``Multiple select'' checkbox as well as the ``Multiple'' radio button were checked? You may also want the ``Free tagging'' checkbox as well which provides a one line entry for the terms separated by a comma. The display is controlled by the node.tpl.php file of the chosen theme.

Perhaps. I've not studied them well enough to comment on them other than to notice that others swear by these.
Earnie -- http://for-my-kids.com/ -- http://give-me-an-offer.com/
You will basically need to custom theme this, in node.tpl file. I'd recommend suppressing the author field altogether, and just theming the taxonomy information.

That's a good link, because it gives you many clues right off. As you can see by the fact that it links to all of the individual blogs at the top, this is not a multi-user blog but rather an Aggregation of blogs. Searching drupal.org for the title that's there, "News Aggregator" gives this: http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/aggregator. Also since that's a form of Syndication you can look at the syndication category of drupal modules - http://drupal.org/project/Modules/category/70 - a quick search on that page suggests Planet might do what you want as well.

Hi raf,
They are doing it via an aggregator module. To do it this way, fyi, the blogs don't even need to be on your site! as in the example page your gave, none of those blogs are on the Drupal Association web site. The blogs don't even have to be created using Drupal, any page with an RSS feed can be included in such a page.
