I have had troubling upgrading views from 6.2 and 7.3 as part of an upgrade. Is there anyone who can recommend a good upgrade path? Is there a trick to not have existing views not be able to be saved after the upgrade?
Thanks, Steve
Steve,
You cannot upgrade views from 6.x to 7.x The 6.x version is for Drupal 6 and 7.x version is for Drupal 7.

Was the D6 version of Views 2.x or 3.x? There were both in D6.
To my knowledge you can’t take Views 2.x to Drupal 7.
You might be able to take Views 2.x to 3.x on Drupal 6, then upgrade to Drupal 7. I do remember being able to upgrade very simple 6.x-3.x views on the one site I did.
Failing that, it might be possible to export the view from D6 and import it to D7.
More and more I have come to appreciate the D8 decision to just do migrations. A couple of D6 to D7 upgrades and I now look to rebuild and migrate. It is a great opportunity to clean up all the bad design decisions baked in to an existing site.
