Script to change collation on all mysql tables?

A lot of people, upgrading from 4.6 to 4.7, or having phpmyadmin issues, are interested in a script or some sort of file that will change the collation to utf8_general_ci on all tables. Anyone have any ideas? I want to add it to the handbook. I think it would be pretty easy to make a sql thingy for default tables, how do you deal with prefixes? Anisa. OOO! Hi, What looks good to some is not necessarily good for others, and what looks bland to you, may be actually quite nice. If the sites listed here [1] and here [2] and here [3] and here[4] are bland in your opinion, then perhaps you'd be better off making your own. Note that not all these theme are available for download, some of them are only sites spotted that looked good in the submitter/site owner's opinion. Gordon and all, Thanks for all your help. The host has found some issue on the server thanks to your troubleshooting, and is investigating a possible solution. In the meantime he asked if I could ask the list if it is possible to put a port number in the $db_url for the database server? in other words, something like: $db_url = 'mysql://drupaluser:mypassword@111.111.111.111:3307/drupaldb'; where 111.111.111.111 is the MySQL database server? My gut feeling is that the string will not get parsed correctly, because of the fact that there is a : already in the $db_url after the drupaluser. Any ideas on this, please? Thanks! cck module problems

Hi, I've just installed the cck module (I'm trying to set up a movie database and figured this might do the trick). Add Menu Item to open new browser

Hi there. I'm very new to Drupal. I want to create a link in the sidebar that will spawn a new browser window to load it (it's external to the Drupal site). I have added the menu item successfully (too easy), but it's not at all apparent to me how I could set the target attribute of the href. I already sent you a private message indicating that I think you will need to go with dedicating hosting or with an alternate SMTP server. However, I had another thought. Many have a limit of a certain number of emails per hour. Hostgator has a publicly established limit of 200, but if you call them and talk to them they will up your limit to 400. If you then throttle your email list so that it only sends 400 per hour, you should be ok, as long as you are ok with having your 5000 emails go out over a 12 hour period. Drupal777

Good Site With PHPList Hosting?

I still have not been able to get PHPList to work. I think the problem is a limit on my hosting company. Does anyone know of a cheap hosting company that has PHPList that could send out weekly emails of about 5,000. Rob

newbie question - search in admin?

I'm working with a drupal developer to create a new site with some legacy content from another site. The Drupal site is in off-line mode for now. So far we've ported over 200 stories. While I'm browsing around the development site, I may notice that a story needs editing. On a different site I have, run with WordPress, if I'm logged in and browsing the blog, there'd be a little linked "edit" tag next to each story and comment which would take me right to the edit window for that story. I'm really missing that in Drupal. Can someone tell me if there's a faster way to locate a story in Admin (content messages filter) for editing, other than sorting by column heads here and then scrolling, scrolling, going to next page, etc.? Even then I can only find a story if I know the first few words in the title ... there's no way to search for body text in a story within Admin, is there? It's 4.7 if that makes a diff. thx AM

I could not get WorldMerge to work on my ISP because it is apparently blocked. Neither my ISP or hosting company will allow more than a few hundred emails a day which makes it impossible to send out mailings for my site mailing list which has about 5,000 people on it. Commecial sites like constantconnect would charge around $200 a month which is not feasible. If I could find a hosting company that would allow PHPList or Mailman to work that would be one possibility and an ISP with unlimited emails might be another.
