CCK field permission

Drupal 6.20 – I want a user to be able to select a node reference for a Content Type, but, once set, they can’t go back and edit it again. I’m actually using URL Node Reference, which works great, but if I don’t allow editing of that field, it doesn’t save the Node reference, but if I allow editing of the field, adding works fine, but when they go back and edit the Content, the Node reference comes up. I have the Content Type set to 404 if Argument isn’t present, and the same behavior on editing, but it doesn’t seem to matter on editing. Any ideas how I might prevent my users from changing that node reference? Joel

Best practice for displaying only title and text inside block

Hi, I would like to display only title and body from one node inside a block. What would be the best practice? At the moment i create new tag and then use views to filter this one node out. Is there a better solution? Br Tanel

Overriding Question for Theme

I have read so many bits of documentation on overriding theme functions in my template.php and made various attempts but to be honest, I have just confused my self more and more and now I'm lost. Can someone lay it out for me, plain and simple what is required of me? I want to assign some CSS to my primary links menu, but there are no unique identifiers on my primary links;. the first menu item naturally in Drupal is given class="expanded first active-trail" and the last has class="collapsed last" but the items in between are just class="collapsed". I want to apply some CSS to these top level headings (I'm thinking I could specify a class in the description field of each menu heading and then have my theme spit this out in the class="" bit? As mentioned before I have been trying, and am failing so I wondered if someone could tell me from the top, so I understand correctly. I made a function in template.php, my_theme_name_links() which is a copy of theme_links() from theme.inc and made some changes, but they aren't having an effect on my menu links on my site (I have cleared the cache under Administer > Site Configuration > Performance). I made the same changes in the original theme_links() function in theme.inc (just to see it happen) and again, the changes aren't happening on my site. How to access a user id & nickname from PHP ?

Hi again, So I've build this CCK node with various fields, some of them are userreferences. I want to access some values from PHP (in a custom CCK computedfield), but it doesn't seem to work: - I can access e.g. the date from my field_date using $node->field_date[0]['value']; - If I try to access a user from field_proprio, I get nothing. I tried $node->field_proprio[0]['value'] and $node->field_proprio_uid[0]['value'] but none of them work. Could anyone tell me how I can access a user, or which bit of the copious Drupal doc I should look at ? Thanks, Xav

Which one is preferable - Drupal 6 OR Drupal 7

Hi Experts I am planning to make a site, where anybody can register his/her resume for free. Potential employers can search the resume and contact the job seeker. For that which one is suitable Drupal6 or Drupal7. In my view Drupal6 is well tested by this time, whereas Drupal7 is quite new. May be number of modules/themes might not be 7.x compliant. Still as I have very limited knowledge on Drupal, I need your extert advice/recommondation which one I should use for site development D6 or D7. Thanks - Austin

Chers membres Durpal, Mon nom est Arnaud Seeuws et je suis étudiant en 3ème année de baccalauréat "Bibliothécaire-Documentaliste" à Bruxelles. Dans le cadre d'un travail, j'utilise Drupal comme prototype pour la création d'un site Web. Etant donné que je ne suis pas du tout un connaisseur de ce logiciel, je posterai probablement souvent des questions sur le fonctionnement du logiciel. La première question est la suivante : Pour créer du contenu dans mon Drupal, j'ai créé un canevas de création de contenu via les options de gestion de contenu. J'ai donc encodé tout le contenu désiré dans Drupal. Par ailleurs, j'ai créé des menus pour mon site ("Page d'accueil", "Répertoire", etc.). Or, je suis à présent avec tout mon contenu mais je ne sais pas comment je dois le placer dans tel ou tel menu du site Web. En effet, ce que j'aimerais, c'est que lorsque je suis sur la page d'accueil, je vois ce que j'ai mis dans la page d'accueil mais quand quand je clique pour aller dans la partie "Répertoire", je vois uniquement ce que j'aimerais avoir dans la partie répertoire. Je dirais que j'aimerais "catégoriser" mon contenu en fonction des parties de mon site Web. Comment faire cela ? Je dispose de Drupal 7 en français. D'avance merci. Arnaud S.

Newbie: converting site to Drupal

I am a complete Drupal newbie, having installed it on my CentOS-5.5 server 10 minutes ago, and read the documentation at <http://drupal.org/node/21947>. I have a very small and humble web-site running on my server, and thought I would try to "convert" - if that is the right word - this to Drupal. Is there a basic document or tutorial anywhere for such a task? Comments per field

Hello, I have been looking all over for this, but so far without any luck. Is there a way to have comments per field instead of per node? If there are no modules available for this, do you think it would be hard (or nearly impossible) to implement? []'s Rafael
