problem with https on localhost when trying to login

I copied a website to localhost (I’m using MAMP) and everything looks ok - until I try to login. It redirects me to https://dev.localhost:8082/user (using Acquia) and I get “Secured Conenction Failed”. How to turn the SSL request/check off? Thanks

Mac users: MAMP vs. Acquia?

I used MAMP all the time. Following some online tutorials/classes they use Acquia I give it a try. It’s Drupal friendly, right? :-D So, it looks ok to me, specially how it manages multiple sites and the import looks much easier. Though, it also looks to me as a addition, link in the Drupal chain that has to be maintained, right? Any thoughts?

Network error ( tcp_error )

Hi Drupal Support team, i am developing a site in drupal and it gives some time the following error: Network Error (tcp_error) A communication error occurred: "" The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. Example git workflow for drupal 7 projects, with demo

Hi all. I'm a Drupal newbie, but an old hand at git. In preparation for using Drupal 7 with multiple developers and git, I'm teaching myself a usable workflow by putting together a scripted interactive demo that walks through all the steps of setting it up, creating a feature on one machine, checking it into git, and deploying it on another machine from git. Maybe such a thing already exists somewhere, but I haven't seen it, so I'm publishing mine at https://github.com/dankegel/droogflow Feedback welcome. Once it's polished I'll try to screencast it. One of the rough edges is the sample feature I chose to include in the demonstration, a calendar with repeating event support. I have yet to come up with a repeatable recipe for getting that working.

Tips & Tricks while taking over a website

I got a D7 website to take care of. Since the website is still "in charge" of the old/current/outside web development company, I don’t want to do anything on the production website to avoid any possible conflict with the web development company. I installed copy of the website on my localhost and trying to figure it out what they were doing. The website is rather complex with tons of content types, webforms and custom modules. Anybody already had exact or similar experience with taking over a website? Any tips and trick would be appreciated. Thanks for any help.

View vs. Module

Hi to all, There is a website i nD7 handed over to me to continue to maintain. According what I saw in the admin area, looks like the previous admin was using modules rather than views for blocks and pages. What confused me is the view module is installed and activated but I can't see Views on the Structure page?!? So, I would like to hear here (different) opinion about Vews vs modules. I found this, very helpful page https://drupal.org/node/904120 and this one https://drupal.org/node/242311 and I think I pretty got a picture, but I would like some more opinions. Thanks

Ckeditor strips tags

I am baffled by the following. I have this code in a block: <div id="headcontact"> <ul><li><em class="mini-ico-envelope"></em><a href="mailto: mail(a)mail.org">mail(a)mail.org</a></li><li><em class="mini-ico-user"></em> (999) 463 1234</li> </ul> </div> I close the block after editing and the em tag can be seen in firebug and it works as intended. I am using css transitions and glyphicons. Then I go into the editor and I see <div id="headcontact"> <ul> <li> <a href="mailto:mail@mail.org">mail(a)mail.org</a></li> <li> (999) 463 1234</li> </ul> No more em tags! And the intended appearance of the icons doesn't work. I tried using the wysiwyg module with ckeditor and the ckeditor module by itself adding config.allowedContent = true; to the ckeditor.config.js file. And to the advanced options. Upgrading Views

I have had troubling upgrading views from 6.2 and 7.3 as part of an upgrade. Is there anyone who can recommend a good upgrade path? Blank page

I am going crazy here. I can not see my site. I am on Bluehost and I know they had some problems last week, which did not affect this one domain BUT I try to log in to my site and get a blank page. I called Bluehost and they suggested clearing the browser cache, which seemed to work up to a point. But now I see the public site but when I try to login as admin I again see just a blank page. I did not change the .htaccess file. Any ideas why I am getting (sometimes I get a 500 error) a blank page? This is the same across IE, Chrome and FF.
