Thanks Tod and Nancy that did it. I neglected to cd to the particular multisite directory --a trap for new players, I think! Drush problem

I cd /var/www/html/directory which is the drupal multi site installation I am modifying a Bartik theme drush dl themes and modules works well but drush en modulename and drush cc produces error below; What needs to be done to fix this please? google is not much help here. Thanks Roger Command cache-clear needs a higher bootstrap level to run - you will [error] need invoke drush from a more functional Drupal environment to run this command. The drush command 'cc' could not be executed. [error] Drush was not able to start (bootstrap) the Drupal database. [error] Hint: This error often occurs when Drush is trying to bootstrap a site that has not been installed or does not have a configured database. Drush was attempting to connect to : Drupal version : 7.8 Site URI : http://default Default theme : garland Administration theme: garland PHP configuration : /etc/php.ini Drush version : 4.5 Drush configuration: Drush alias files : Drupal root : /var/www/html/directory Site path : sites/default Modules path : sites/all/modules Themes path : sites/all/themes File directory path: sites/default/files %paths : Array You can select another site with a working database setup by specifying the URI to use with the --uri parameter on the command line or $options['uri'] in your drushrc.php file.

(no subject)

My customer wants to use 1and1 to host his site. I have the all the code and database uploaded. The front page shows up when I use the domain name 1and1 provided. But accessing anything else on the site gives a "500 Internal server error." The site works fine on my PC. 1and1 told me to delete the PHP settings from .htaccess and create a php.ini file with the PHP5 values. I did that and the error persists. Any ideas? Google fonts

Dear all, I have enabled 3 webfonts from google on my site. I don't see them appear in CK editor, as I had hoped. Is the only way to use them in CSS? Calendar for scheduling work

I will be upgrading an existing Drupal site from version 5 to either version 6 or version 7 but also extend it considerably at that same time. For one thing, e-commerce will be added and also a scheduling function (has nothing to do with e-commerce) with the following capabilities desired: * calendar display month-by-mont similar to the default month view of Google calender, * ability for the website administrator to schedule one or more events each day which he should be able to make visible to selected users on a per-event basis; * ability for these users to mark days - or parts of days - as available or not available or may be available; * finally and ideally, some way of generating semi-automatic e-mails based on the various events each user has confirmed that they will accept. In short, this will be a calendar-based system for scheduling instructors for various courses (which generally last two to five hours, i.e., no recurring courses), offer each course to selected instructors based on their geographic location and the availability they have marked in the calendar and keep track of the workflow of the scheduling process and last, to be able to send reminders and information to the instructor who has accepted an assignment. Can something like the above be accomplished (or almost accomplished) with a canned module(s)?

I'm setting up video displays using the FlashVideo module and JW Player. Am trying to find out if there is some method available for having thumbnails generated from these video files, short of the obvious method of created and uploading them manually. PDF as a menu item

My customer has a PDF of his products and now wants a menu item to display that file. I tried just creating an item with that file's [relative] URL and it says that the path is invalid. Drupal 6 for the moment, but will probably be going to 7 soon. Nancy E. Nancy, Sometimes it can be a challenge to relate a server file path with a url - at least one that actually works. :-) What I do at these times - besides make a cup of coffee - is step back a bit and go to a file / url relationship that I know works. For instance the CHANGELOG.txt file, often left on the webroot. If you can get that to work on the menu then put the pdf there and if that works, then go from there maybe.
