Move site from Web server to local on MAMP

Folks: Drupal 6.19 I want to move my existing web site from my web server (it works fine) to my local MAMP installation. I'm doing this because I want to learn how to use ubercart without messing up my working web site. I have several working MAMP installations, but can't get the downloaded one to work. I've exported the web version and imported the database into the MAMP version. No problem. I've copied all of the files from the web site to the MAMP site. No problem. I've modified the setups.php folder to account for the MAMP port for the db and base URL port (8889 and 8888), I've run update.php with free access set to true. The front page shows up fine, BUT: Here's the problem: When I click on any of the menu buttons, I get a "The requested URL /node/51 was not found on this server." error. BUT: if I use http://baseURL/?q=node/4 address (for example), I get the page. But I have clean urls set to true and addresses like: http://baseURL/node/4 give me the "page not found" error. I also get this error with URL's like: http://baseURL/admin/settings/clean-urls I DO have cleanURL's turned on, but obviously there is something I need to change that I don't know about. Weird authentication popup coming up on my Drupal 6 site

Hi everyone, When I go to my Drupal 6 professional blog, http://awebfactory.com.ar , I get a popup (whether logged in or not) that says: "Authentication required" A username and password are being requested by http://dc2009.drupalcon.org. The site says: "drupalcon security lockdown" When I hit cancel, everything is OK, until I access another page and the same thing happens. It's Drupal 6, and I have just upgraded Drupal and all modules to latest release with no exceptions. I deleted the .htaccess and replaced it with a new one from the Drupal 6 release. I am new to drupal 7 How to insert an image gallery in drupal 7? Please explain the whole procedure from which modules to install, how to upload the images, how to setup content type and how to insert the gallery in drupal 7 (please give details so other newbies can learn from this). PS: I am using the linux pan newsreader for several other mailing lists which I find more easy to use, I check pan several times a day and learn a lot :-) I have made a small minihowto about how to use pan: http://minihowto.org/pan-minihowto.txt I am already following "gmane.comp.php.drupal.support" on pan but this list is probably more about php which I do not know much about *smile*

Backup and Migrate

I'm confused. I wish to recreate our drupal 6.19 server web site on my home pc. I used Backup and Migrate on our server drupal web site and downloaded a copy to my home pc. I read the Backup and Migrate drupal pages before proceeding. I did a fresh install on my home pc of drupal 6.19 with a database named the same as the server database. I used the same password and username. Used Backup and migrate to put the data into the home pc installation. Nothing worked, it was blank. I logged out as administrator and find that Log in fails because it does not recognise the password. What am I doing wrong? How can I recreate an exact copy of everything, including themes, changes to themes, images and everything else on the server to my home pc? Help much appreciated Thanks Roger

I want have pop ups

" I have a button ADD ... when I click on the button I want to get a popup/modal window in which I will be having a form with 4 form fields. In the pop up/modal window I will be having 2 buttons --one SAVE and other CANCEL.... After I click on the SAVE in the popup/modal window I want to display the form entries as a table and I dont want that data to be saved into my database...I just want the data in the popup to be passed on to my screen where I had the ADD button so that I can just display it... I am having one more button together with ADD called DONE..on clicking the DONE i want to save the data to database..... I dont want to save from pop up because the ADD button can be clicked many times to add data... final DONE has to store the entire thing.." Is this possible? I know about LIGHTBOX2 module... but is this possible with this module..? Or shall I write a jquery for this... as a separate function/file? -- *Cheers* * *

But whenever I click on on edit or delete action action it opens in other window leaving current page. I want these actions to be taken place in pop-up window. Path Redirect or Custom URLs

Hi Folks, A site I'm taking over has had content migrated from another CMS. The old URLs are important and need to be preserved. There is an admin assistant available to do the grunt work. My question: Which method is better from an SEO perspective (is there an another perspective???, if so do share): - Drupal core's path module; paste in the old urls as the path alias - use http://drupal.org/project/path_redirect to redirect the old paths to new ones created with the pathauto module. I don't know if it makes a difference or not... but all the old paths end in "shtml". Other suggestions? The site is running 6.20 and clean URLs. Thanks in advance, Shai
