Thanks Cory goto: your_site.com/admin/content/node-type/your_content_type/displayon the right side you will see under Full Node you image field. select theimage type you want it to display, and click Save.This should work if you are using the Content Construction Kit (CCK) for you content type. ----===--- That shows the galleries ok but <Browse> still defaults to my home pc directory, not the directory on the server where the imported images are. I do not want page coordinators to upload their own images, they must only choose from the gallery or from a view of the images in a particular gallery... How do I get around it?

custom content and permissions (only admin can see)

Hi, I am using the latest 6.x version and added the custom content piece through the Content Management -> Content type -> Add content type. For both anonymous and authenticated users I have permissions checked for Node - 'access content' and each content_permissions module's 'view field_*' are checked. I am using a custom node tpl.php, which is being used correctly for the admin user. I have assigned the nodes to a page through Site Building -> Pages -> (the page) -> Variants -> Content Any ideas why these custom content types are not showing for anonymous and authenticated users, but only show for the admin user? thanks, -Rob

displaying imported images

Following O'Reilly 'Using Drupal' chapter 7 the book is painfully short on answers to these questions, I think because it is for an earlier Drupal version and many of the boo displays are not the same as on screen. Required modules are selected. I have imported several images into Drupal6.19 I have set up a number of galleries and taxonomy terms In content - photos are published Have a view - Photo Gallery have Fields-content:Photos & Images Filters Node :published Node Type: image in photo Added page display Style:Gallery Path: gallery How do I get the images to display in a view? All I get is 10 titles - Photos& Images: Create Content: Photo the Browse selector Photos & Images finds the images in my hard drive folder, not the imported images. How can I point it to the imported images? The Gallery drop down shows all the galleries. How do I get the imported images into their respective galleries? I do not want the images on the front page but on a new page but can't find the node reference for the special page, where does one find the node references for content and pages? Is there a tutorial on how to do all this for Drupal 6.19? thanks in advance Roger

Dev Site Impact Impact on Server Resources

Hello folks, Let's say you have a super-complicated Drupal site with ubercart + a gazillion other modules, but you have 0 visitors. Will that site use significant server resources? Or does a site require actual traffic in order to make an impact on server resources? Thanks for the help. Shai

CAS plugin: SSL error in verifying ticket

Hi list! I'm setting up the drupal CAS plugin for the CAS authentication system. Basically the Drupal plugin checks with curl to a server running CAS to see if a ticket is valid. Which happens over ssl, and which fails. I'm using self-signed cert, which works nicely, and I have put the PEM certificate in the CAS module config box for "CAS PEM Certificate" on Drupal. There are 3 options. * do not verify the certificate * verify the server using PEM certificate * verify the CA using PEM certificate I use the second option and I feed Drupal the certificate that the CAS server (Tomcat app speaking https) uses. I get an error in the cas/drupal debug log: CURL error #58: unable to set private key file: '/root/tomcat.pem'. That's confusing because it obviously needs a *public* key file, no?

Is Drupal Appropriate for Our Site?

This may seem trivial, but all I read about Drupal, including the introduction in the ORA book that arrived today stresses the application of the Drupal framework/CMS for community-content based Web sites (or e-commerce sites). My very small consulting company doesn't fall in either category. Most of the pages on our site are static; I'll add new newsletters or white papers to the documents.shtml page, but that's about it. I would like to add polls, a form-based e-mail capability for those who prefer to ask for information that way rather than via regular e-mail, and -- perhaps -- the ability to comment on issues raised in newsletters and white papers. This is why I ask whether Drupal is really the appropriate tool for me to learn and apply. I don't know that any professional services consulting company's Web site actually generates clients. I know that a poor site can drive away potential clients, but in the 17 years I've run my business no one has hired us because they found our Web site somehow and decided they needed our services. Of course, if I can actually generate new business via a spiffy, Durpal-based site, I'll be very pleased to have that result. You can see the current site at http://www.appl-ecosys.com/. I'm completely open to suggestions to make it more of an attactant, and whether Drupal is appropriate for this type of site. Rich

Javascript source error

I'm including some javascript in a module. The script: echo "<script type=\”text/javascript\” src=\”http://images.citysearch.net/assets/pfp/scripts/tracker.js\”></script>"; echo "<noscript>"; This results in an error: Failed to load source for: http://onepagers/node/%5C%E2%80% 9Dhttp://images.citysearch.net/assets/pfp/scripts/tracker.js%5C%E2%80%9D It's adding the local url to the remote url and of course failing. know I'm missing something fundamental here. l() is inappropriate Thanks

Mail Transfer Agent (Exim4) setup

I hope someone knows what they are doing out there. I use outgoing.verizon.net as my smarthost. It requires a login of user: passwd and also authenticates the source of the email using DNS lookup. I have been using swaks for trouble shooting with a command line like: swaks --auth --to <my email name>@verizon.net --server outgoing.verizon.net This returns a list of things with the last few lines being what is important: <- 235 2.7.0 LOGIN authentication successful. -> MAIL FROM:<root(a)cruncher.domain> <** 550 5.1.8 invalid/host-not-in-DNS return address not allowed -> QUIT <- 221 2.3.0 Bye received. Goodbye. === Connection closed with remote host. Now I know that the 550 error statement is pretty straight forward but does host-not-in-DNS mean that I have to add something to my verizon account, use an existing mail account in one of the log files or somehow use one of the pieces of information returned by the hosts program. Verizon help desk is less than useless. No documentation (2 day search) or the Debian mailing list seems to give me the information I need. This is an installation that must be on every server in the world. It must not be that hard to setup or am I than dumb (I just finished a BS degree in mathematics and age 74). Gary R.
