I am trying to login to my site. After I hit login I get a 404. The Url is changed to http://foo/bar*/bar*/mysitename/node?destination=node
Somehow the second *bar* is getting inserted into the URL. (I used backup and migrate to back it up every day but can not start the *restore *as far as I know. ) Looked in the .htaccess and all is the same. Any ideas?
I would check for accuracy of $base_url variable in settings.php file.

It's commented out in the \sites\default\settings.php file.

What about your Cache and Variables table? I believe that some form of base href is stored as a variable and variables are also cached.

You haven't indicated version of drupal here. In some versions I've found that I needed to set $base_url for sites where the drupal base directory was not the root of the web server. Setting this may correct your problem.

Drupal 7.12. Should I empty the caches in those two tables? I will get back to you in about 4 hours. Thanks. Tony
