Script to change collation on all mysql tables?

A lot of people, upgrading from 4.6 to 4.7, or having phpmyadmin issues, are interested in a script or some sort of file that will change the collation to utf8_general_ci on all tables. Anyone have any ideas? I want to add it to the handbook. I think it would be pretty easy to make a sql thingy for default tables, how do you deal with prefixes? Anisa. OOO! technical support chat

hello everyone. your recommendations are always appreciated. this time I want to provide a technical support chat inside of my drupal powered-website, so that users chat with one of the technical support ingineers in my company. xmlrpc() crashes without warning for large base64 data types...

Hello there, For some reason, calls to xmlrpc.php are crashing/timing out for base64 data elements larger than 100k. Here's some more information: * I'm running my site in a Red Hat EL 4 server with PHP 4.3.9 (which is the default for this OS) * I tried to replicate the error calling the functions directly from the command line and the error did not show up * It seems that the call to base64_encode() is consuming a lot of resources. I changed memory limits in php.ini to 128M and the function calls still hang. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions/clues about what could be done? Thanks in advance, Leo

translation block

hello. is there a way to modify the out put of the translation block that is generated by the translation module, part of the i18n set of modules. I am trying to play with the following statement: <?php print theme("item_list", translation_get_links($_GET['q'])); ?> what this produces are links for the 2 languages and their associated flags in 2 lines since it's a list. I assume that changing "item_list" will change the way those links are rendered? but how, what other functions can I use? it would be great if in the end I could display only the flags in one line, next to each other. or better yet, if I could display only the flag for the none-active language. any ideas? Junk {head} {style} etc., but can't login to change default theme

I've upgraded my PHP version on a v4.6 Drupal install (as part of going up a few Fedora versions), and have run into what seems to be a known problem with junk curly braces appearing on the page (http://drupal.org/node/42080). The fix listed is to login and change the default theme, but I can't do that because the ?q=admin/themes page just says 'you are not authorised to login' and there is no login form :-( Any bright ideas ?-- Tom C 'We can lick gravity, but sometimes the paperwork is overwhelming.' - Wernher von Braun

Forcing a category on a CCK form

Apologies in advance if there's a simple answer to this, but: We publish static articles outside of Drupal but would like to give each article a Drupal dicussion area. I've used CCK and the content_taxonomy module to create a new node type that allows for both an article-ID field and a taxonomy dropdown. Is there a way, however, to force a particular taxonomy ID so that, for example, an article on "security" would automatically create a node under our Drupal "security" taxonomy (similar to the way you could do, say ?q=node/add/forum/17 for a forum topic)? HowTo: table within a fieldset

Hi. After posting by accident to the themes-list, I try it here: For a module settings page I would like to build up a table of available extensions (don't care about, just think of a simple table) but this table should be within a fieldset (collapsible). How do I handle this? I can build the table and can build the fieldset but the table doesn't want to appear within the fieldset. Any ideas (or a handbook page) or is this simply impossible? Stefan

multisite technical question

Hi, I have a multisite install where Im sharing content (nodes) , taxonomy and users. (I am only not sharing the following tables : menu, cache, variable, accesslog, watchdog) I present content to different websites based on tags (for example subdomain1.example.com will only present blogs tagged under vocabulary subdomain1 , similar functionality for subdomain2.example.com etc..cross tagged content will appear on both sites) The problem Im facing is with search...I want anonymous users on subdomain1.example.com to only see content tagged under subdomain1 while searching. Is there anyway to achieve this? I have installed TAC but setting permissions for anonymous users on a per site basis is not possible... Is there anything else I can be trying? There is a way to change 'anonymous' user per site on administer->settings...but that only seems to change the name Thanks, VJ

Mohammed, The two columns look better! What inkfree says is probably right - maybe set the blocks that they do NOT show on the front page. That will provide you with some space.
