Many menus - complex navigation

Hi, I've got much of the functionality together that I need from Drupal, except the client would now like quite structured menu navigation and I was wondering how I would accomplish this in the least hacky way. The site is divided up into sections with the category module, although final "pages" are often views rather than nodes, so (I think) they can't be categorised and hence put in a section directly. There's four to five layers of sections, and the end pages don't have to appear in the navigation themselves (except when they're what you'd call "index" pages). My problems are specifically at the view layer - putting the overarching menu together in admin isn't too hard. Any suggestions on the following requirements gratefully received: 1. Across the top, two layers deep into the section hierarchy: A B C D (Hidden dropdowns:) a1 b1 ... a2... b2... ... 2. Down the left-hand side, the second and subsequent layers of the *current* section's hierarchy. So if you're in top-level section B: b1 b2 b2-1 b2-2... b3... This would need to adapt depending on what section the user is navigating in (so in section A you'd just see a1...aN). 3. Current top-level-section (A, B, C or D) highlighted, and current sub-sub-...-section expanded on the left-hand side, all the way down. I can force sections for non-sectioned pages in template.tpl.php - I'm already doing it, sort of, for one of the views - but it'd be good to know how to do the above with the least PHP. Specifically: * how to highlight A, B, C or D (with HTML classes?) and make a menu only 2 levels deep * how to choose a submenu, and how to expand just the leaves (leafs?) that lead you down the tree to e.g. b2-3-1, given that sub-sub-sub...section (so generating a menu 2-to-X levels deep) Many thanks in advance! Devel module - how to turn off page execution time?

Hello, I've got a Drupal 5.1 site running with the latest version of the Devel module. Just for grins, I decided to check the box to show page execution time. Now, every page I go to only displays the execution time, nothing else. Since I can't get to the module settings through the site, how do I manually turn that feature off? - jody

creating menus with "system" destination URLs

I have a new theme and am now trying to create the menus. I have run into a lot of trouble with destination URLs such as user/me ( I am using me module) profile/me user/1 These are either not being put in or are put in but without the possibility of adding sub-menus to them. Has anyone else struggled with this issue? I just created a menu item going to user/1 and it showed up in FF but not in IE. I realised it was because, only for admins, I still have the "Navigation" menu showing up and it has the "locked" item MyAccount. In FF, this disappeared when the new menu item going to user/1 was created, whereas in IE, it stayed in the Navigation menu and didn't show in the new menu. My head's about to explode. :-(

Newbie with a dead site

Perhaps I should start by saying that I'm obviuosly very daft for not having backed up the last few days work! Where I now am after power loss is with a site reporting: Warning: Table '.\drupal\sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired query: SELECT u.*, s.* FROM users u INNER JOIN sessions s ON u.uid = s.uid WHERE s.sid = '207a004ebaa486e50fc0560a9dc892a8' in C:\xampp\htdocs\includes\database.mysql.inc on line 172 But when I try running the command in mysql it just reports: mysql> select drupal -> SELECT u.*, s.* FROM users u INNER JOIN sessions s ON u.uid = s.uid WHERE s.sid = '207a004ebaa486e50fc0560a9dc892a8'; ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'SELEC T u.*, s.* FROM users u INNER JOIN sessions s ON u.uid = s.uid WHERE s.sid ' at line 2 mysql> Any ideas where I go from here? optional user profile fields

I would like to make some user profile fields dependent on other user profile fields, for example, right now I have parent 1, a whole bunch of contact info fields, parent 2, a whole bunch of the same fields, child 1 - many fields, child 2 - many fields, child 3 - many fields. I'd like to make it so the user could check a box if all the info is the same for each person, or if there is only one person, and not have to put "N/A" in over and over. editing block content question

Why is it that the pre-existing blocks can't be edited, but blocks that I create can? I have blocks I created in Drupal 4.7 that I could edit, but when the site was moved to Drupal 5, the same blocks became uneditable. Is there a way to modify their contents or do I have to just delete and recreate the whole block?

Profile fields in the wrong place...

Hi there, I have created some profile fields that i want to show on my account registration page. Creation of the fields went as they should but when showing my account creation page, my custom fields get placed above the standard fields (username and email address) and above the welcome text of the page, that gives the account registration page an unprofessional look, i think. What can i do about it, if anything? Is there a module to help me with this problem or what can i possibly do? Thanks for any answers. /Krister

Drupal-integrated gallery ?

Hi, I want a gallery on my site, something well-integrated with Drupal (not just some glue between Drupal and yet another big php thing). The only thing I could find right now it IMCE_gallery, which I installed, but this thing seems to be really badly coded (absolute paths in imce_gallery.js, plus it does not work if IMCE uploads are in a subdirectory, and generally fragile). My question is: do you guys know of a small gallery module, which works well and is easy to use ? Thanks, Xav

Do URL aliases have to be lower case?

Hi everyone, Do Drupal URL aliases have to be lower case? example: node/32 => Repository/YOUTroubleShooting doesn't seem to work, but: node/32 => repository/youtroubleshooting workes. I'm using 4.7 with clean urls. Thanks for any help... -jon
