file path aliases i'm confused

I would like to have my files link look something like Example.com/dl/category/filename I've read about the filepath module have that installed and just read about the filealiase module and I'm just not getting it. I hate to move things around and have a mess of over 500 files on my hands. Could anyone help? I'd like to let drupal alias this and not the server itself since I do have pathologic module installed too. Thanks. Hi, How do you specify a link on your server E.g. I want my demo and production system hosted at http://localhost/demo http://localhost/production to point to a file in sites/all/files/myfile.html I have tried /sites/all/files/myfile.html - invalid URL sites/all/files/myfile.html - evaluates to ?q=sites/all/files/myfile.html I guess I am asking can you enter some magic value to do this e.g. <drupal_root>/sites/all/files/myfile.html These files will move host and have a different lead directory Iain

any suggestions on the progress of my web site

Hi, I am using the public download counter module and I can not send the links to people with in emails, the links break, any suggestions, here is what the links look like that I am sending out: Sure wish this could be as a action and trigger, but it don't work either: tokens will not expand. Is there any way to alias this to be shorter and easier so the links will not get split in email? Thanks for that Nancy. I don't see ByRole as my primary issue necessarily, more I'm afraid it's symptomatic of the real issue that perhaps sharing the user/1 account is the only sensible thing to do prior to Drupal 7 where there actually is an admin role. At http://wistia.com/doc/video-seo, they say to add a "sitemap" specification to your robots.txt file. I've done a lot of searching and it is not clear, but I get the feeling that this would invalidate the XMLSitemap generated sitemap. Is this true? If so, how can I use both? Drupal Mobile and multilanguage site

Hi all, I have a multilanguage site (5 languages) where each language have a domain extension (it, fr, de, es, com) Now I want to add the mobile version. I have installed mobile tools+browscap and the theme "mobile_jquery".All works on the main site (domain.it redirect to m.domain.it), but I don't understand how to do the same thing for the other 4 domains. Help with setting up a feed

I changed the default term view in views to change how the archives of our shows look. I did not touch the feed page, but people are telling me it is not working. Any suggestions on what I might need to do. Here is the link they are using: http://accessibleworld.org/taxonomy/term/16/all/feed When I look at the link with internet explorer I see the files there, wondering why the pod ketchers are not liking it? theme question

I would like to display current date and time, what would be the best way to do this in drupal 7? I would like to display either the local time pst or the users that is visiting their local time.
