Also worth to mention the Node Images module ( http://drupal.org/ project/node_images ) It's dead easy to install (no scary configurations like Imagecache +Imagefield), and it shows an extra tab on the node page that allows users to attach images. Basically, any node gets it's own gallery, and it shows pictures thumbnails above or below node content out of the box (of course it's themable further on). Marco

drupal_render() problem

Hi, i am somewhat new to drupal and so this is probably a trivial problem. I am playing around with theming (i.e. trying to learn how to). Anyway, on my site i have the loggintoboggan module enabled and i would like to change the appearance of the login block. Currently the block simply displays the login/register link. I did not want to touch the module so i thought i'd override the function. This is what i did: - i looked at loggintoboggan.module and found the 'user_login_block' case - in my template.php i added: function phptemplate_user_login_block($form) { return _phptemplate_callback('user_login_block', array('form' => $form)); } - i created user_login_block.tpl.php which contains: <h1> SOMETHING </h1> <?php print "<pre>"; print_r(array_values($form)); print"</pre>"; print_r(drupal_render($form)); ?> The 'SOMETHING' is displayed properly as well as the printing of the array_values. However, the call to drupal_render(...) does not seem to do ANYTHING. What am i doing wrong? I am using drupal 5.0. thanks mat

Simplenews/Cron problem

Can anyone kindly help me? On one of my sites, when I send a newsletter using the Simplenews module, the newsletter list shows 'Currently sending by cron' next to it, and I can't seem to get it to send even by running Cron manually. However, some subscribers seem to have received it anyway! Any suggestions why this might be? It does not happen on my other sites which sit on the same server and seem configured the same way. Menu navigation block

Hi, Assuming I have a menu "Primary Links" with the following items: -- Page 1 ---- Page 1.1 ---- Page 1.2 -- Page 2 ---- Page 2.1 ---- Page 2.2 It is easy to put the "Page 1" and "Page 2" at top of the page. But now, when I click in "Page 1" I want to have a left column block, showing only the child menus. This is similar to what the book module does, but instead of using a "book structure" it should use the "menu structure". Anything done to accomplish this? Regards, Fernando Silva

Installing og_forum through profile

Hi, I am trying to install the og_forum module through the installation profile. However when I add og_forum in drupal_my_profile_modules, it throws up an error at installation. The error is: Fatal error: Call to undefined function _forum_get_vid() in /var/www/drupal/modules/og_forum/og_forum.install on line 19 All I am doing right now is just adding og_forum in the module list. I have: * enabled forum, organic groups *have not yet made any configuration additions to the profile. Can someone help me out on what I need to do or what I am doing wrong? I have found that TinyMCE and IMCE work rather well to provide an intuitive solution. When installed properly, the Image icon in TinyMCE pops up a small window, and by clicking the Browse link next to the image path/name field another larger window opens listing the images you have got in your images folder (presuming you set up everything properly). You can look at the images, select the one you want, and it is inserted into the path/name field of the smaller window, and then you can optionally specify alignment, padding around the image, etc, and insert it inline into the body of your node. The second window mentioned above also has a facility to upload a new image to your images folder. This all works well for reasonably small numbers of photos (<1-200?) but would not work so well for large image galleries. Combine Project & Organic Groups

I have installed Groups and Project Modules but am having trouble combining them to support my purpose. I want to create a user, allocate them to a project/group, work on that project and maintain their data private to them. Folders, files created at the server should be accessible to the group/user of that project. Could anyone give me an idea how i could achieve this. Customizing Fields?

I would like to create a new link field that has a text field and a URL field. This exists in Drupal, it is now called, "Link" in the Create new field list. I would like to make the URL field non-required, so that if users enter text, it will show up, but if they don't put in a URL, they can still enter the text--it just wont show up as a link. Does this functionality require coding? If so, how would I go about changing the PHP to do it? Thanks! --ian--

I (the superuser) should be able to add these of course, but it would be helpful if project leads for each category could post their own to it. In addition to the web view, users should be able to subscribe to it through a simple form asking for their e-mail address and a set of checkboxes allowing them to indicate which categories interest them. They should be able to choose to get notifications of when a new event is published, reminders of events n amount of time before it, or both. These things should also be available as RSS/Atom feeds. It would be ideal if the subscription checkbox system were extended to the entire site, allowing a user to subscribe for instance to events of categories "parties" and "meetings", blog posts by users 4 and 17, and all nodes tagged as "news". It would be best if the subscriptions could be done both within the context of Drupal user accounts as well as for the "anonymous" user, requiring only that they put a valid e-mail address in the form, for minimal confusion for more basic users.
