4.7 Site Check - Please

Collaborative 4.7 Site check - Please I would like help with a new 4.7 drupal site from those that know their way around the Drupal program, perhaps some you have time and can advise as well. I would appreciate your comments regarding both the design from a technical and a content analysis. I have it installed at www.clnews.org/drupal/ Please take a look. My goal is to build an online community of labor and/or community activists, using the theme or notion of " action stories". I'm totally blown away by the concept of taxonomy. Yet, necessarily the site must be designed with a minimum of classes or categories as starting points to hang any submitted stories on. Can anyone discuss this with me? So the problem I am asking for help is a discussion on both a technical design evaluation and an overall site narrative design evaluation. Anybody interested in suggesting how to proceed. Search and flexinode

Hi all, This is my first mail to the list, i hope you can help me and i will try to help anyone i can.. well, my problem is that i use fleximode, i have a large site using 5 o 6 different content with flexinode... and i need a searcher usefull. I want some things.. 1) Introduce a radio-buttom or select to mark where flexinode will go to search on. 2) Make a search result order by different flexinode and more things but these are the most important.. any idea?

pager_query problem

Hi there, I have a problem with the pager_query() or with the theme_pager() under v4.7. They are a bit mysterious for me, because they don't work for me correctly. The query is "good", if copy&paste to the MySQL console, it's working. If I set the 20 to 500 in the $nodes = pager_query(db_rewrite_sql($sql), 20); all of the record (400something) cappearing, but if I set the "20", nor I don't see the theme_pager(). Vica versa: if the rownum is 2, the pager is there. I've tried to force the pager put the page variable into the URL, but it hasn't helped. My query using "only" LEFT JOINs so it shouldn't be a problem to the db_rewrite_sql() . What Am I do wrong? Thanks, -- Aries

Is it really not possible to keep supporting it as a module? I'm not going to continue to update the engine only to lose functionalities and the current search module in 4.7.0 still misses basic functions that I'm relying on (like searching by date or parts of words).

trouble with permissions for book module

I recently upgraded to 4.7 and I'm still getting the hang of Drupal. I'm also using the Taxonomy Access module to restrict access to certain nodes by user role. I'm using the book module for one area of the site along with the Taxonomy Access module to make them viewable for only certain user roles. In permissions I have everything pertaining to the book module such as "create book pages", "edit book pages", etc turned off for a user role. But when I log in as that user I still see the "view" and "edit" tabs on the pages of the book and I'm still able to click on the "edit" tab and make changes to the book page. While trouble shooting this I turned off every permission setting except "access content" for that user role and I still see the "vew" and "edit" tabs when logged in as that user. I've also noticed the "authenticated user" role will effect the other roles I've created so I unchecked all permissions for that role as well with no result. Any ideas? Thanks Mike Hartman

menu items with no link

Hi all! How do you make a menu item without a link? Like a subheader? On drupal.org there are two menu items that don't have links (Play patch bingois one) on the Contributor Links menu. Since path is required to make a menu item, not sure how to do this. ... Unless the contributor links menu is NOT a menu and just a custom block? Have no access to menus on two of my sites

Hello all, For weeks now I cannot access the ADMIN/MENU page for my two largest sites, culturekitchen and The Daily Gotham. culturekitchen is a Drupal install (Drupal 4.6). The Daily Gotham is a CivicSpace install (with drupal 4.5). This is what I get for both pages whenever i try to access them : > > Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/ > liza/domains/dailygotham.com/public_html/includes/bootstrap.inc on > line 331 > Any ideas as to what is causing this? / liza

Merge sites/import & export?

I have a rather ... odd situation. I have two Drupal sites whose content must be merged. That is, all the nodes and comments of site #2 must be somehow exported and then imported into site #1. If the import-export module worked, I'd use that, but I'm on 4.7 on both sites. Thoughts? A simple MySQL dump will not do it because the ID numbers will conflict. -- Adam Knight If you're not going to stop and appreciate the scenery, you're not going to enjoy Myst. path view and linking questions

Hi, Coming to a public release soon of http://www.clnews.org/drupal/ The site/folder is a continuation of http://www.clnews.org/ I don't think I can just change the folder named "drupal" to "stories". Correct? Everything is on a hosting server under one www folder. Which has been configured in the MySQL and PHP files. So I guess all that would have to be changed. Right? Are there any workarounds so that visitors will not be confused by reading the path in the browser address field? Also wish to share connecting links from one to the other on the front pages of both. Any suggestions on either are much appreciated. Thanks and Cheers, Tony Budak
