What is the best way to have tabbed panes in Drupal 6.x and 7.x

Hi All I have very limited knowledge on Drupal. I have installed Drupal 6.x, I have made the front page. Once user logs in, it lands in my login destination panel page (configured usning login destination module). I want in my login destination page, I should have around 3 tabbed panes. I downloaded quicktabs module, using quicktabs module created a block (having 3 tabs). Added the block to login destination panel page. I am able to see the tabbed panes as expected. Now please clarify --------------------------------------------- *1. Is this the preferred way to have tabbed panes in Drupal 6.x ? * *Here I face a minor problem. I am using CTI-Flex theme (a zen sub-theme), I have configured different colors for header, footer, background etc (I have installed color picker module). The login destination page (that has tabs), looks bit odd, it does not have the configured colors for header, footer and background. So my front page headr/footer/background color, login destination page headr/footer/background color are entirely different. Any idea what needs to be done. * *2. Well I cleared up the blank screen by running update.php, but after getting into the D5 -> D6 conversion a bit realized that with several content types and views and thousands of nodes this was a much bigger job than I'd bid for so spoke to the client and we're settling on an update to the latest D5 version instead... for the time being. Bullet points in FCKEditor

Hello Drupalites, Yesterday I upgraded our intranet Drupal site, core and modules, including Drupal core 6.20 and Wysiwyg 6.x-2.2 (with FCKEeditor). Users are reporting that the bullet points (list items) for GUI editor - which I don't use - are not appearing. My only suggested workaround at this point is to disable rich-text so they can see the html source or run a preview. This is not satisfactory in the long run. I don't have great knowledge of the internals of such editors, and I am also wondering whether others have experienced the same issue. Counting the number of node created by user, Views only

Hi, Sounds stupid but I can't manage to create a view that count the number of node of a certain type each user created. Any clue? Cheers, Denis

Wow! This is really a case of over thinking the entire situation! Thank you Gary for solving this one, it worked! Drupal-7: mysql-5 niet in path

Hello, my hosting provider is in the process of adding mysql-5 to its services. The problem with that is, that php and therefor can not access the mysql-5 client. At least that is what I think what is happening as I get an error during the installation of Drupal-7. The error is shown below. I can access the database via phpMyAdmin (PMA) and via the command line. Is it possible to instruct (configure) Drupal-7 in such a way, that it will be able to find the mysql-5 client, that lives in /ur/local/mysql-5/bin The error that is shown during installation is: Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'rudolf'@'localhost' (using password: YES). 1) Is the database server running? Yes, PMA and the command line client work 2) Does the database exist, and have you entered the correct database name? Yes, it exist 3) Have you entered the correct username and password? See 1) 4) Have you entered the correct database hostname? It runs on local host. Is there a way out of this? -- TIA, Richard

Permissions Question

I have what I think must be a common permissions question, but I can't seem to find the answer. I want to set my Drupal site up in a tree structure. I want to grant create/edit/delete permissions by selecting one or more nodes in the tree and granting a role the ability to edit those nodes as well as any child nodes. A simplified example would be a site with two primary sections and each primary section has two subsections. I want to be able to give rights to the primary section, which would include rights to the relevant subsection. However, I also want to be able to grant rights just to a particular subsection. How can I do this?
