Hi to all, I need the command to list (in Drush) of all modules should be updated but no db update needed.
Tried drush up —no-core —check-updatedb but didn’t get what I need.
Any idea?
Thanks
Also, I took over a website with tons of modules to be updated. Even the core is 6-7 updates behind. Anybody with the similar experience? Suggestions?
Thanks

Hi, As with any software and following the methods outlined by drupal for updating, always backup the original data. Create an environment for testing and do the updates there firstly. Never work on live or production environment, only deploy to production. It's going to require more effort but you can't avoid it. No matter how perfect your site is if it is not backed up it doesn't exist. On 31 Oct 2014 09:54, "Drupal" drupal@afan.net wrote:

Hi to all!
I just found I locked my self out: I forgot my admin password (or other admin changed it without notifying me) but when I “Request new password” I don’t get anything in my mailbox. I have one more account, as regular, authenticated user, and it works. But when I tried to “Request new password” for that account I didn’t get email either. Looks like the site is not sending any confirmation email. If it does a matter, the site is in the “maintenance” mode.
I have server/mysql access.
Any idea?
Thanks, Afan

For some reason Drush is installed but doesn’t work :( I hope this solution you and David mentions will work fine. :)

You can reset the password from database. But I cannot stress enough you need to have backups at all time to avoid these issues. If you are running a business down time is not an option it will cost you. On 31 Oct 2014 13:11, "Metzler, David" metzlerd@evergreen.edu wrote:

If you have ssh / command line access to the server and drush installed you can do the following from the applicable sites directory:
drush upwd <username> --password="new password"
Such as
drush upwd admin --password="fubar"
Make sure you have permission to execute that file (chmod o+x ./scripts/password-hash.sh);

if you use drush, run command "drush uli" OR drush upwd --password="PASSWORD" USERNAME

Another best option is:
drush uli
It gives one time login URL (for user id 1) and you can reset the password from your profile page.

This part is pretty clear to me. I’m playing on local machine. I was wondering if anybody took over a website with last update don long time ago :-)
Although, just a minute ago I heard that the website I was talking about updates is soooo faaar behind (core 7.20) that it’s impossible to update directly to 7.32.
True?

I don't understand why that would be true. It doesn't really make sense to me and is against my experience. I'd try it (in dev) and report back any errors here. It's possible that there are workarounds
I haven't really taken over any sites in this regard (which is why I didn't respond sooner) to your original inquiry, but I've let my dev environments fall pretty far behind in the past and then an upgrade to get it in sync and never had any troubles.

Many of us (myself included), update core along with everything else, so mostly I fire drush up. I would not advise limiting those to modules that don't update the database, but rather would advise getting a site clone up and running on a dev box and running though drush up in a test environment and getting yourself current.
Hopefully you've updated core by now... 7.32 - anything less is dangerous.
