optional css configurable by visitors

hello. this was posted at the drupal forms but got no reply, so I am trying my luck here. I have found this page that explains how to have an optional css file configurable by visitors. http://drupal.org/node/59895 since I want users to choose between high-contrast and normal colors, I am very much keen on getting it to work. I have tried it on my website but it didn't work for some reason. may be there's something I am not getting? or may be some typo that I couldn't figure out? has anybody been able to get it to work? if so any examples? and, if not, do you know of a similar hack that would produce similar results? any help, as ever, will be highly appreciated. RTL directionality in the internet_services theme

hi. I have been trying to hack the internet_services theme to work well in a multilingual environment, with an rtl locale, (arabic). here is what I did so far: 1. in my template.php file I put the following function to load the correct style sheet depending on the locale: function phptemplate_stylesheet_import($stylesheet, $media = 'all') { $rtl = in_array(locale_initialize(), array('ar', 'fa', 'he', 'ur')); if (!$rtl) { return theme_stylesheet_import($stylesheet, $media); } if ($stylesheet == base_path() . 'misc/drupal.css') { $stylesheet = base_path() . 'misc/drupal-rtl.css'; } if ($stylesheet == base_path() . path_to_theme() . '/style.css') { $stylesheet = base_path() . path_to_theme() . '/style-rtl.css'; } return theme_stylesheet_import($stylesheet, $media); } 2. I modified the direction in the file style-rtl.css file that is supposed to get loaded when the locale is right to left like this: /* rtl */ body { direction: rtl; /* text-align: right; */ 3. in that same file, I replaced each occurance of float: left to float: right as you can see at www.nattiq.net the site looks lovely in the english locale, and most of I wanted to achieve in the arabic one also is looking good, except for the issue of the right hand block, it displays after some space. and, isn't this side bar, according to the code, supposed to be at the left hand side when the language is arabic? can somebody look at the code and give me some ideas? Theming forms in a table

Hello I am trying to insert a form in a table. I want the result to be similar to module table admin->modules. I have read some topics in drupal home page like: - http://drupal.org/node/82916 - http://drupal.org/node/97361 - http://drupal.org/node/47582 (the last comment is very clear) I have got to insert the form but when I click in the button (submit) in form_id_sumbmit function I do not receive this element values. What am I doing wrong? Regards

Alt text with preg_replace for accessibility

Hi, I'm creating a text only version of a site and would like to replace inline images with their alt text. In my template files I have: <?php print preg_replace("/<img[^>]+\>/i", "(image) ", $content) ?> which replaces all images with: (image) what code would I need to create output like: (Image description: THE ALT TEXT HERE) and is this best practice? new theme with no koala

Just committed a new theme to CVS, and created a project for it: http://drupal.org/project/nokoala Based of my site - http://rosskendall.com since a few people took an interest in the CSS drop-down menus. If anyone can help with making the screenshot visible (I don't have permission for <img> tags), that would be great. Also, is there anything else I need to do for tar.gz download? Here's the blurb: "The No Koala! theme is a simple but elegant single-column /phptemplate/ theme for the Drupal content management system. It's goal is to focus on accessibility and usability, and should be suitable for a blog or other simple websites. "The theme uses XHTML and CSS, and incorporates a CSS dropdown menu that is designed to be integrated with the Drupal menu system." Hope you find it useful. Cheers, Ross.

I changed it to HTML so your screenie shows up. You'll need to email the infra list if you need to edit it as it will have to be changed back first. Howto: table with surrounding fieldset

Hi. For my module settings page I would like to build up a table of available extensions (don't care about, just think of a simple table) but this table should be within a fieldset (collapsible). How do I handle this? I can build the table and can build the fieldset but the table doesn't want to appear within the fieldset. Any ideas (or a handbook page)? Stefan

dear listers, first, I am sorry to have posted this messages to both the themes and the support lists, but I just am not sure where this would fit more. I am concerned with the accessibility of drupal powered websites for the blind and visually impaired. I have searched the drupal website and read what I could find about this topic but it seems to me that this has received little attention so far. none of the posts I read was elaborate enough. here are some points to contemplate about: 1. for visually impaired users, I want them to be able to change the font size / color / contrast on the fly. one site that does this beautifully, but it's not drupal powered is our strategic partner's website at: www.yourdolphin.com 2. provide keyboard users the possibility of reaching some parts of the website using accesskeys. I know that this method isn't preferred from what I read about it, but may be the listers can share their views about this point. I am blind myself, and never need to use accesskeys as my screen reader has built in commands to reach to various elements on most websites. actually, most modern screen readers have this possibility. I am thinking that structuring the website's documents well will often be most handy. like using different heading sizes, and using bulleted and numbered lists. the project I am involved in currently is for the company I work for, which specializes in assistive technology for the blind and visually impaired. it's at: www.nattiq.info it still requires lots of work, specially that it's going to be multilingual and has a right to left language. still, I would highly appreciate it if some of you could give it a look and steer me in the right direction. any comments will be warmly welcomed. Fixing theme for Theme Garden

Hi folks, I took up the challenge of fixing the Theme Garden theme to work in IE: http://drupal.org/node/79557 I ended up creating the tpls from the raw html output and have been hacking at the original css. It still doesn't work right and needs more attention.
