Lists look different in IE

Hello, I've got a site here: http://beta.menashalibrary.org/about/history The side menu's are made up of unordered lists. In firefox, opera, it looks exactly how I want it to look. In internet explorer, however, there's about a 15 pixel gap on the left hand side of the list items. I've validated both stylesheets the template uses: http://beta.menashalibrary.org/themes/multiflex/css/style_override.css http://beta.menashalibrary.org/themes/multiflex/css/style_screen.css Any ideas what may be wrong? - jody

How to troubleshoot themes?

Hello, I'm having a problem with a theme I'm using, and I'm at a loss as to how to troubleshoot the problem. The problem is, for menus I create, they should be wrapped like this: <ul> <li></li> <li></li> </ul> But, my theme wraps them like this: <li></li> I have absolutely no idea why it would leave out the <ul> tags. So, needless to say, it breaks validation and doesn't honor the stylesheet. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this problem? - jody

What controls the appearance of taxonomy?

Hello, I'm currently setting up taxonomy for all the pages on my site. My question is, what determines what information is displayed on the page for the taxonomy? If I use bluemarine, I see this: Submitted by cleveland on Tue, 2006-09-19 14:50. About Us On the template I'd like to use (multiflex), I only see this: About Us I know the stylesheet determines how it should look, but how do I change what is displayed? - jody

shortcut for phptemplate variable printouts

Hi, In order to minimize the php code seen by a themer, I was wondering what people thought of making simple aliases for basic printouts of phptemplate variables. The phptemplate engine would go in and find these aliases and convert them to their actual values. BEFORE: <?php print $content ?> <?php print $sidebar_left ?> AFTER: {$content} {$sidebar_left} Just looking to reduce the amount of potentially intimidating code for new themers. Menu problem - sidebar menu items not getting wrapped in<ul>

Hello, I've got a site here: http://www.wals.lib.wi.us/drupal/ (I'm using a modified version of the multiflex theme) If you look at the menus on the right, the lists are pushed to the left, so the bullets are chopped in half. (looks ok in IE) viewing the source, I noticed that menus I create don't get wrapped in <ul></ul>. Rather, they're stranded <li>'s. Using the standard Bluemarine template, it works fine. So, that leads me to believe it's a problem with my template. From what I can tell, that would be defined in block.tpl.php, right? You don't need to use the block to display the primary and secondary links. Themeswitcher

I have finished the first part of the corrections to the themeswitcher module. Results are posted here: http://drupal.org/node/82340 I found the original array handling too complex, so I simplified it greatly. But that really reflects my limits as a programmer rather than the value of the original code. May need to put in a check to ensure that count($themes) > 1, otherwise the theme browser block is useless. Do we still need a themes overview page that shows all available themes and ties them to themeswitcher? - Ken Rickard agentrickard
