Dear Drupal Developers: Hi. This is Davin Hutchins, managing producer of the American News Project. We are launching the website for the American News Project, a new non-profit journalism venture this month authored in Drupal. ANP is committed to creating video reports that matter by connecting muckraking journalists with online audiences big enough to make an impact. Our producers and reporters are inspired by the crusaders of the past and the present who believe that journalism is truly the Fourth Estate of democracy. We are launching our Beta site and are inviting you to test it before we launch in two weeks. We ask that you fill out a short survey to better improve the site before we launch. Search box in Bluebeach

Just a quick question about the danger4k theme (built on Bluebeach). Everything appears to work fine but the Search box is not visible for anonymous users. How do I fix that? Here's what I've already tried: 1. admin/settings/site-information (Toggle Display, Search Box) Interestingly, when I turn this off, the search box disappears for all users 2. Modifying this code from template.php to print the search_box on all pages (no luck) <?php if ($sidebar_left): ?> <div id="sidebar-left" class="sidebar"> <?php print $search_box ?> <?php print $sidebar_left ?> </div> <?php endif; ?> I suspect I'm missing something basic. Multi-Column Content: Drupal 6 Panels alternative

Whats good Themers?, I just cleared up some time to start playing with D6 and in my excitement didnt notice that there is no update for the Panels module. Are there any alternatives for creating multi-column content with Drupal 6? I've got a 2-column homepage design that needs a list of page teasers on one side, and a node/page followed by a list of blog teasers underneath it in the other column; both columns will need to be styled extensively with CSS. This site: http://www.flingmedia.com/, or my current site for that matter, are similar in look/content arrangement to what I'm trying to accomplish. Any suggestions? ooh.. In searching drupal.org, I found this discussion (http://drupal.org/node/206962) which has a D6 Panels port - but the author says its buggy.. and my php skills are kinda light. I'm gonna give it a try though... Also, (and slightly off topic) it seems to me like a multi-column content option should have made it into Drupal's core a long time ago. As a point of curiosity, was this functionality something most Dupaler's just weren't paticularly interested in in the past? We're seeing a weird problem in our Drupal themes administration. We've used Deco as a starting point for a customized theme. We then copied this theme to a new directory (in sites/all/themes) called ourtheme. We modified the deco.info file to list "ourtheme" as the theme name and saved it as ourtheme.info. We also made a new screenshot.png. The trouble is, in the themes list in administration the list shows "This version is incompatible with the 6.2 version of Drupal core." and lists no theme name. We can select it as the default theme but it still shows no theme name in the configure theme page/ Ideas?

Rounded corners like drupal.org

I have searched Google and drupal.org but cannot find a walkthrough for the rounded corners at drupal.org--especially the orange and green blobs at the top, which are awesome. Can anyone explain, or provide an educational link, to understand their code? It's been up for a little while. The handbook for theming in 6 is up. It'll replace the main theming guide when Steven gets enough time. It is more for reference and giving an overview. Dreamweaver Cheese

A Dreamweaver extension could serve the purpose of luring people in the right direction. I was the typical designer who started out with the Dreamweaver crutch before I discovered the joys of xhtml/css . Most people that use Dreamweaver use it because they don't know any better and you can't really change that until they sink their teeth into a project and find out that it is really holding them back. I explored Mambo/Joomla! before Drupal back in the day because it did have a Dreamweaver extension and that made me feel like I was on familiar ground. I've seen other designers do the same for similar reasons. In the end the extension would not be that useful but I see valuable PR opportunity. Modules extending themes functionality

Hi, I am working on a theme, which needs a module to extend its functionality ( ajax callbacks, etc... -> http://sotak.co.uk/drupal-admin-theme-vol-1 ) I wonder what would be the best practice, how to give this module to users. Should I create a new project on d.o. in contrb/modules and put the module here and write into themes README file that you need to download and install it? Or should I commit it under theme's directory? Won't it be nice if drupal could look into themes directory too to check if there are some modules inside the themes so it can stay packed together? :) Maybe new line in .info file which will specify type of contribution? eg. module/theme marek -- __________________________________ ____ ___ __ _ .. .. .
