Yes, I agree with Adrian here. Drupal may not be the greatest too work with all the time. Because of its complexity of nature. I don't know what Kieran Lal's earlier preferences or knowledge are..Tough I have to say you have done well on your theme there.*thumbs up* Anyway. As I have said/asked before: Should drupal compete directly with Wordpress? Sure, they are both "do-able" for blogs, but drupal is meant for so much more! WP is really just a blogtool. A very good one too! I kinda see Drupal as a framework, a framework that scales good and gives me the flexibility that I need from a CMS(as a developer). So here is my real deal, should Drupal just let WP handle the bloggers, so Drupal can deal with community building and complex websites? I think so. Today I have no problem theming with PHPtemplate. Wrap some divs around here and there, then do your magic with the CSS! Now that phptemplate kinda have grown on too me, I really like theming my sites by code. Since many WYSIWYG-editors tends too live their own lifes by throwing in random code here and there. changing page template based on node type from within template.php

Hi folks, I'm trying to serve a specific page template for all nodes that are forum posts. As of right now, I've been twiddling in template.php to do similar work... serve different templates based on url arg(). Here's the function I'm using: http://pastebin.com/767797 Note that I've been trying to grab the node type /(if (arg(0) == 'node' && is_numeric(arg(1)))/ and then trying to load a page template based on that: /elseif ($node->type == 'forum') {/ I thought this was the proper way to do this, yet now I'm getting some scary looking mySQL errors (linked so I don't have to paste them in here): http://qatotonetwork.newmbc.com/node/1110 Would appreciate some help if anyone has a clue what I'm doing wrong here. Getting rid of Submitted by and dates

You know how right under a node title it has "submitted by" or "authored by" and the date? Can someone point me to where in the handbook it shows how to get rid of that? I thought this would be an easy fix but I don't really see it in the template.

tango icons no longer "allowed" in contribs.

Hello fellow developers and themers. First of all, I hope we can all hold our breath, and fingers and not start another thread out of this. You might not agree, but leave that for other times and places. Thank you ;) Tango icons use Creative commons (CC) as their licence. Whether or not CC is compatible, transformable, integratable or anything else is not the point here. The result is that you cannot use tango icons in contribs, as was our policy for a while. If you have a project using tango (or any CC icons or work, in fact) make sure you either replace them with your own work or one of the various nice GPL icons around. Make sure you do this an all branches (releases). If you find modules that still use tango icons, or any other incompatible licence, please contact the owner, or leave an issue in the queue for that project. Dries -and the other contrib maintainers- want to keep contribs Pure GPL. New theme: Holy Grail

After some cantankerousness with CVS, I have finally gotten this checked in. :-/ http://drupal.org/node/66150 This is intended as a sample theme for other themers. It is just Bluemarine redone to use "Holy Grail" layout, a 3 column pure-CSS layout described here: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/holygrail Hopefully it will prove useful to others, including those working on the new default theme (or not, if they're going a different direction).
