Drupal 6 bugfix release expected June 2nd

Hi, Since we have several interesting bugs fixed in the development version of Drupal 6, I'd like to do a bugfix release on June 2nd. If you happen to have some opportunity to help, I suggest one of the following three options (in this order): 1. First and foremost, it is important to ensure we do not introduce new regressions in the system. Since Drupal 6 lacks automated tests, you are our testing army (this approach also known as crowdsourced testing). You choose whether we find out issues before the rollout of the new version on your live server or after. Testing on PHP 4, with mod_gzip, on systems where one of the top bugs were reproduced, etc. are especially useful. 2. Second, if for some reason you think (1) is not applicable to you, the RTBC queue has some nice bugs and fixes which would do with some verification. There are currently 17 RTBC issues waiting to be committed. But RTBC does not equal immediate commits, since often waiting on more positive feedback and the attention of the maintainer experienced in the field is useful to ensure it will not break your sites. Once again, no automated testing means we need numerous verifications of bugfixes of any significance to be comfortable to roll into Drupal. Therefore bugs being in the RTBC queue for long is by design unless many people jump onto reproducing the issue and testing the fix in various environments. A few is not enough, we need many. The queue is at http://drupal.org/project/issues/search/drupal?order=last_comment_timestamp… 3. Last, but not least, you might have some pressing issues not yet in this queue. Due to the explained need for testing in (2) and the explained possibilities of regressions in (1), new bugs getting into the queue have less likeliness to actually end up in the upcoming Drupal 6 release right away. However, you might still be able to convince some people in the community to jump on your bug and help fix/verify/ensure/double-check/test-again/you know-it. At worst, it will get fixed in a later Drupal 6/7 release. Ps. in all cases, please ensure that the bug was either already fixed in D7 or is not applicable to D7 before working on the D6 version of the fix. Has anyone got a script to highlight node bodies

Unfortunately, I don't know javascript very well - I can barely read it. I was just on what amounts to a blog site where, in this case, the most current node body was highlighted by a mouse-over. But I was thinking that it might be nice to do this for every node body, particularly on sites where there is a background that doesn't lend itself to superior readability. So does anyone have a script that can be used to just change the color of a node body background, perhaps with greater opacity on a mouseover? Nancy E. Now, I don't expect a reply, so don't worry about it. This is just an observation about the reach of this list. I posted a question a short time ago. Eighteen (18) minutes later, my Google Alert picked it up! Incredible. I guess Google really likes Drupal a lot.

core user_login customization -- getting breakout theming AND custom validator working at the same time?

How to interrupt/redirect Search submit to auth/validate (via Captcha) *BEFORE* actual submit to search engine & display of results?

I've D6 installed. I'm unwiring my hand-rolled site, and recasting in Drupal. I'd like to replicate the following logic, but in the most appropriate, technically valid, "Drupal Way". (I make that qualification as I'm well aware there are many 'roads' to any given Drupal 'mountain' ...) I expose a themed custom Search bar ($search_box) in my theme's top header/menu bar. If I enter text into the field, click Submit, the search result's displayed @ .../search/apachesolr_search/test I'd like to inject a validation check 'onsubmit', so that if USER has not, during this session (anonymous or authenticated) successfully answered a reCaptcha challenge, then BEFORE submitting/returning the search result, redirect the USER to a standalone Captcha-challenge form, and, IF the challenge/response is successful, finish the Search submit and return the Search result in the $content region, as usual. IF the challenge/response FAILS >#n times, return the user to the home page. I'd like not reinvent the wheel, and use the existing capabilities of Drupal core, the Captcha module, etc to the greatest extent possible. To this end, I, installed Capthca module installed Webform module created a Webform node assigned the Captcha module to display @ the Webform node's form_id cp'd overrides of search-theme-form.tpl.php webform-form-[nid].tpl.php to my local theme. One approach to do what I want, I suppose, is in search-theme-form.tpl.php, redirect form submission via 'onsubmit= ...' to a "my_captcha_script.php", passing the referrer form_id (here, 'search'), all the various $search $vars, etc -- conditionally validate the Captcha submit, and then, per conditions above, push the passed $vars back to a submit form, but with a real 'search' submit target. That does not seem Drupal-esque to me. I'm guessing that the current best approach is to 'somehow' grab & use FormAPI ... Finding a method recommendation, and docs to go with it, has beeen a challenge -- so far. What's recommended here? Thanks, Ben

Hi Earnie, Thanks for the answer and that's one of the things to do, but my problem at the moment with that path is that in hook_form_alter there doesn't seem to be anything that I can use to identify which block it is. Am I missing something obvious? If there is nothing in the $form then what I think I actually want to do is use some code to generate the form and as I have access to the $form array to put in my own validation rule or hidden $form element or whatever to distinguish between the different blocks. So I'm trying to generate the user_login_block myself so I can alter the $form array but can't get it to work. In my block code if I call drupal_get_form('user_login_block') for the block content everything is fine but I can't alter the form object. So I'm trying to do the same steps as drupal_get_form, i.e. the code below and the user login block displays but there is a bunch of stuff missing from it so it doesn't actually submit. Am I making this harder than I need to for what I'm trying to achieve? "Package" misuse

Okay, folks, I am now on a campaign. According to "Writing .info files (Drupal 6.x)" [http://drupal.org/node/231036] regarding the use of "package" in your .info files: "In general, this field should only be used by large multi-module packages, or by modules meant to extend these packages, such as CCK, Views, E-Commerce, Organic Groups and the like. All other modules should leave this blank. As a guideline, four or more modules that depend on each other (or all on a single module) make a good candidate for a package. Fewer probably do not." I am actively working on a very large site and adding (occasionally deleting) modules several times a week. Sometimes they are very hard to find because of all those misused "package" designations. Please, please, please, if your module does not meet the guidelines, remove that line from your .info files so that the module ends up in "Other," where it belongs. And please don't tell me about the various module page organization modules that the site owner doesn't want added. Nancy

Super admin can own the site and divided into two roles like own clients and prospective clients. when the own client or prospective client enterned into the site. Creating multiple login blocks with different validation rules.

Hi, Does anyone have ideas on how to implement the function in the subject? Basically I want a page with two login blocks, one for general users and one for premium users. I've used multiblock to get the two blocks up there but I need the two different blocks to work different for the different user types. That is if a general user tries to login on the premium login it fails and vice versa. Is there any easy way to do this or do I have to recreate my forms manually? Thanks, Anthony.
