Updating custom Views plugins for D8

Hey everyone, seeing as Views for D8 is now well on its way and appears to be mostly (or even fully) updated to the new core plugin system, it should theoretically be possible to update plugins written for Views 7.x-3.x to run on Views 8.x-3.x. The only problem is that I can find zero documentation on how to do that. This (http://blog.erdfisch.de/2012/09/hands-introduction-drupal-8-plugin-system) comes closest, but it only explains how to create an empty style plugin, not how to make it do the same stuff an existing D7 plugin does. Anything? Or am I way too early with this? Best regards, -Chris

Advice on module writing

I've had a look at the domain modules and organic groups and neither seems to do what I want. What I want is to create a domain/site structure like this: widgiemootha.example.org, wiluna.example.org, witchcliffe.example.org wagin.example.org wyalkatchem.example.org www.example.org birdiya.example.com Membership between all sites will be shared, but individuals might not actually be members of any particular site. Drupal's multisite allows sharing tables and so membership. As far as it goes, that is fine. Content associated with a site will only be visible at that site. A site's content at some paths, such as /About will override all others at that path. A site with nothing at /About _might_ inherit from birdiya, the boss site. On the other hand, /News might merge news from friends. Content shared with other sites will be visible at other sites. Aggegator is similar in content, but sharing will be explicit. One idea I have is to extend the node to have two more fields: owning site-id, and sharing attributes. I tried the domain modules, but when I was associated with two sites I got two /About menu items, and the implementation shared users behaved a little oddly: I want to switch back and forth between sites, maybe by choosing them from a list of links, and not to have any problems with sessions management or with access. The first question is, is it in order to modify the node table? I've googled and googled and not found an answer to that question.

File upload and convert

Hi Folks, I have a content type with TWO file fields, in which I will designate TWO PDFs. On upload completion I want to run something like: "exec(pdftk f1.pdf background f2.pdf output f1.pdf)". This will "brand" f1.pdf. I don't see any standard mechanism and so I'm not sure how to go about this. I have a general understanding, but that doesn't answer the question. I am sure I don't want to intercept all possible uploads; just the uploads from this specific content type. So, can I define a file upload hook which is scoped to this specific content type? I haven't seen anything that makes me believe I can. Can I create a custom file field to use any time I need to perform a conversion? Can my custom file field "extend" the existing file field, so I don't have to port improvements/bugfixes to my custom file field version? So many questions... (-: Thanks for the help, Chris.

Batch load of Entity Translations

(Also posted on Forums) I've been looking for almost a week and can't find anything anywhere to give me the information I'm looking for. So if it does exist and I'm just being an idiot I apologize. I have created a drupal module to display Job Postings. The postings along with the translated data are all created in a separate system so all I want to do is load the posting and related translations into my Drupal website automatically. I already have the job posting data loading properly and as far as I can tell I have the module coded to pull the translations as required and available. It displays the job postings and the module labels are displayed in the correct language as appropriate. However, it is the related translations I am having trouble with. I need to be able to load that data into the appropriate tables when I load the base posting data. I can't find anything that tells me which tables I need to populate and what other settings/data I would need to add to the Drupal site to enable the display of the translations as required. I am pretty sure it isn't a simple as add data to this table and magic happens. But I can't for the life of me figure it out. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
