Hello, I'm trying to get a webform to send the data via ajax on drpual 7. I've added this code into my template.php file. It seems to work well except for the fact that the data isn't saved at the end. tricky drupal_execute() / hook_form_alter() question

I'm trying import some data from a user's Facebook profile into Drupal. The site in question has a lot of moving parts: Content Profile, CCK, Drupal for Facebook. I'd like to query facebook for info about the user, then create or update a node with the data. The node contains a lot of fields, and I'm only interested in updating 1 or 2 (or 3 or 4) of them. My preference is to use drupal_execute() to create/update the profile node. To do this, I have to fill out a $form_state['values'] array. I've tested this and noticed that if I leave out the values for any field in the node, that field will be reset to blank. In other words my code needs to fill out values for all fields. But to do so essentially prevents anyone from adding more fields via CCK. The code would need to be updated for every change to the content type, which is too onerous. There are posts on drupal.org describing this same problem, and suggesting using node_save() instead of drupal_execute() for this purpose. What do the experts on this list recommend, drupal_execute() or node_save()? I had the thought that during hook_form_alter(), I could scan the form for all #default_values, and use them to populate the $form_state['values']. A function able to do that would, it seems to me, make drupal_execute() much easier to use. That code would have to navigate the entire $form tree (at least all element children). And would have to be smart about where #tree is true in order to get all the #default_values into the right $form_state['values']. Has anyone attempted such a thing? Thanks in advance, -Dave

D6 Views 2 adding filter programmatically

I have a block view set up, but I need to add a filter that uses a value from the node. Adding a dynamic value to the filter seems pretty straight forward: $view = views_get_view('related_cities'); $display = 'block_1'; $view->set_display($display); $filter_name = 'field_city_parent_id_value'; $filter = $view->get_item($display, 'filter', $filter_name); $filter['value'] = 'my_new_search_value'; $view->set_item($display, 'filter', 'field_city_parent_id_value', $filter); Problem is that I don't know where I should be running this code. Module or template? If I put it into a module, which function should it go in? I've tried it in hook_views_pre_render(), but I'm not sure how to get the results based on the new value. Thoughts?

Updating LDAP Users

Hi @all I've a question regarding the ldap integration to drupal. Is there a chance to write a script (command line based) which updates all drupal users ldap data? The thing is simple, if I change a LDAP user data the changes are not updated in drupal until he/she logs in once more... So I wanted a script which I can run via SSH from command line and "fake" a login of all users... so that their data is updated "by hand"... Does anyone have a script like this, or a mechanism which does something like this? How to populate a content type programmatically - D7

Hi Drupal friends In a cron job I'm loading data from an external source and want to create nodes of a content type created with fields in D7. For every node I do: $node = new stdClass(); // populate field values node_save($node); How can I populate the filed values programmatically ? Is there something in Field API that does this for me or do I have to rebuild the whole complicated fields structure for every field by hand? Or is there something that can prepare this structure in order I can fill in my values? Thanks for your help! Ernst

Form altering in ajax

Hi all, I'm trying to include a form from a module trought a ajax callback on D7 [1]. Actually I got a button #ajax-ed which load the form in a wrapper on the page. The form is altered in callback to make it ajax enabled, specifing #ajax settings plus custom #submit & #validate callback. The form loads correctly, but, when submitting, it post the whole page to /system/ajax, on a blank page (or without ajax it post to the correct path but not triggering the custom #submit). I've tryed both drupal_get_form and drupal_build_form with custom form_state settings (eg. no_cache, rebuild) to skip/force rebuild of form (and cache). Drupal Mail API Problem

Patch stuck for D6 blog module w/postgresql

Hi, The patch here: http://drupal.org/node/1149628 solves a problem with a query that makes the blog module fail to work with postgresql. The patch is both trivial and critical for the blog to work at all, yet it's stuck in the "needs review" status with no comments from anyone. What does it take to get this patch applied?
