How to define settings from an install profile

Hello, I am looking for the way to make some commong settings for my Project in the install profile but I can't achieve. I have post the question in drupalexchange, which you can read following this link: http://drupal.stackexchange.com/questions/149730/how-to-define-settings-fro… And I am pasting here as well: I am looking for the way to set some settings at the install step. EDIT: Here is my current try: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/b950eacc3ca80159628b At profile_final() function, where as I understood all drupal is bootstraped I have: variable_set('date_first_day', 1); But the regional setting for the first day of the week still is Sunday after the installation. So it is not working as I expected. I am using the taxonomy_menu module, and I would like to set at the installation step the menu to be linked with the taxonomy. Because I am installing something known, I know the variable names that might be set are: variable_set('taxonomy_menu_vocab_menu_rubric', 'menu-genius-navigation-menu'); variable_set('taxonomy_menu_vocab_parent_rubric', 0); This is not working neither. I have been following https://www.drupal.org/node/1022020 and looking at other examples but I have had no luck to find how to do this. Is it possible to do whatever setting in an install profile or are there any restriction? In that case, what restrictions are? What am I doing wrong? I'll appreciate any kind of comments. Override 'Size of textfield'

Hi, I wrote a module, which utilises field_create_field and field_create_instance. I have my $instance array like below: $instance = array( 'field_name' => 'field_tckn', 'entity_type' => 'user', 'bundle' => 'user', 'label' => t('TCKN'), 'description' => t('Enter your TCKN.'), 'settings' => array( 'user_register_form' => TRUE, ), 'display' => array( 'default' => array( 'label' => 'above', 'type' => 'text_textfield', 'settings' => array( 'size' => 11, ), ), 'full' => array( 'label' => 'above', 'type' => 'text_textfield', 'settings' => array( 'size' => array( '#default_value' => 11, ), ), ), ), 'widget' => array( 'settings' => array( 'size' => 11, 'description' => t('Enter your TCKN.'), ), ), ); The field is attaches to user bundle just fine, but what I would like to is re-use the field in any content type. I can do that too, but I would like to override 'Size of textfield' when I add the field. What am I missing in the above code? Regards, -- mto

Contributing my changes to VDD

Hi I recently started working with Drupal. Today I tried running VDD.(I have some experience with Vagrant and Chef.) I download this version: vdd 7.x-1.3 (http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/vdd-7.x-1.3.tar.gz) The problem is that it didn't worked out of the box. I had to make some changes, and now it's working well. I want to contribute my changes, how can I do this? Here a list of what I had to do: - include the database cookbook in cookbooks/site (https://github.com/opscode-cookbooks/database) - include the xfs cookbook in cookbooks/site (https://github.com/opscode-cookbooks/xfs) - include the chef-postgresql cookbook in cookbooks/site (https://github.com/phlipper/chef-postgresql) - include the aws cookbook in cookbooks/site (https://github.com/opscode-cookbooks/aws) - add the database cookbook to the run list (/roles/vdd.json) before the mysql::client recipe and after the apache2 recipe. - add the php cookbook to the run list (/roles/vdd.json) before mysql::client recipe and after the database recipe Cheers Tobia

New content type

Hi all, I used to make website with drupal 6 and I defined new content type using new node type. I tried to do the same thing with drupal 7... But after some readings I discover it could not be the right way. Must I used entity ? I want to access my new type as it was node with ?q=node/add/my-new-type I search for goods tutorials but didn't find somes. Thanks in advance for any help or any advice. Nicolas

Field invisible

Hi, I've got the below code. After enabling the module, the field is seen disabled in /admin/config/people/accounts/display/full. Furthermore, even if I enable it, it is not on user account page, even though it is visible in dpm() output.
