Okay, now that the switch finally got thrown, I'm left with unfinished module updates and need to come up to speed quickly. I freely admit, I am not a super fan of CLI. I used to use TortoiseCVS. I've downloaded TortoiseGit, but am totally lost. I'm not finding a lot on GUI use on DO. Did I miss it? Or is there someone who can talk me through the common module dev functions (off-list)? Nancy

Git best practices for client codebases

Since a Git clone downloads the entire Drupal repository, the Drupal codebase is no longer so lightweight (~50MB) if you are using Git, especially as if you clone contrib module repositories as well. With CVS, our usual practice with clients was to checkout core and contrib using CVS, so that we can easily monitor any patches that have been applied, so that they wouldn't be lost when updating to newer releases. (Drush makes this particularly easy.) This is doable with Git as well, but now there seems to be the added cost of having to download the full repository. This is great when doing core/contrib development, but not really necessary for client work. This is unavoidable as far as I can tell, but I don't think I'm satisfied with the "just use a tarball and don't hack core/contrib" solution, especially when patches come into play. Is there something I'm missing/not understanding here, or does one just have to accept the price of a bigger codebase when using Git to manage core/contrib code? Or is managing core/contrib code this way passe now that updates can be done through the UI? -marco****

MYSQL queries and Modules

Hi @all is there a way to improve mysql queries from several modules? I've loaded aprox. 40 modules and it slows the site terrible... There is also the thing that if you load a site as an anonymous drupal does also the mysql queries for logged in users. Does anybody have such problems? If yes, may we can change experiences. [Drupal7] Efficient to query nodes from multiple terms (CCK)

I am development a module that show a listing of node. Currently, the node of ap specific content type has multiple CCK term references to a specify vocabulary, i.e. v1, v2, v3 I want to list of nodes if they matched a specify term conditions, e.g. v1=tid1 v1=tid1, v2=tid2 v1=tid1, v2=tid2, v3=tid3 v1=tid1, v3=tid3 ... I am using subquery to query the above condition, but I am not sure if any better method to speed up my query? Any suggestion for my usage? Thanks.

Magento and Drupal

Hi Gurus, I want to analyze the possibility to integrate a Magento project with drupal framework. We have a Magento site with the possibility to have hundreds shops.The problem we have found is: how to allow any shop man to manage his content, for examples news, products, categories and so on. IMHO, I think that drupal can create the right interface to manage this process, but I don't understand how. I have read a lot of tutorial and drupal forum threads, but no one tell about my scenario. Any opinions/advice will be more appreciated. Git Migration?

Where are we on this? I thought the Git migration was happening on Thursday, but I haven't heard anything yet. I'm trying to find out the git repository URL, but I haven't found any definitive docs? Should I still be committing changes to CVS or no? Dave

Variable overriding in SimpleTest environments

Hi, I'm trying to build with SimpleTest some acceptance tests for the D6 based sites I'm developing. For achieving this, I am creating a module that checks if configuration values are the correct ones, with tests like this one: public function testFileDirectoryPathIsTheRightOne () { $dirpath = variable_get('file_directory_path', 'sites/default/files'); // tried file_directory_path() too instead of reading the variable. $this->pass($dirpath); $this->assertEqual( 'sites/default/files', $dirpath, 'The file directory path is correct' ); } But (obviously) the simpletest environment that is being built overrides this setting (p.e.: file_directory_path() and the variable 'file_directory_path' have the value sites/default/files/simpletest/275031). Is any way of checking the values of the original site? I'm thinking about checking that $dirpath begins with 'sites/default/files', but not sure if there is a better way of assuring this). problem with fbconnect logout process in custom theme

Hello all, I have face problem with fbconnect module. This issue is form my custom theme.I have alter the login block to match with my site design. Now when i connect with my facebook account i can connect with my site properly. But when i try to logout from my site at that time i am not going to logout from the facebook. Even i have set from admin that ask to logout from facebook to user. When i use garlend them then its work proper for the signout process I.E at that time it will ask me that would u like to logout from facebook... One more thing if i enable the fast registration process form admin panel then i can not get any registration confirmation mail in my given email address.... I have almost try all the given solution provided by various form.. And even all thing are configured well. And also add the required code in my page.tpl.php , page-front.tpl.php. But still problem with my logout process of custom theme. Please help.. Thanks in advance.
