When I said anonymous users are not allowed to access content I did not mean that also applied to the home page. What gives?

Does Drupal Run in 64 bit Ubuntu Linux Machine

Hi All I wanted to install Drupal 6 / Drupal 7 in a 64 bit Ubuntu machine. Just wanted to check if Drupal is compatible with 64 bit Ubuntu Linux machine. My machine's hardware profiles are - --------------------------------------------------- 1. CPU intel core *i5* 650 boxed 3.2 ghz socket 1156 2. MB intel P55 Chipset *DH55P* J Boxed 3. HDD WD SATA 2Tb 64MB cache With above hardware profile, and Ubuntu 10.04 (*64 bit*) linux environment, I am planning to install Drupal6/7. If somebody has already done it , please share if you faced any problems. Also in a 64 bit ubuntu linux machine, which webserver is recommonded. I found some people using XAMPP. Is it the best one or you have someother recommondations. Load on web server will be high, at high load, I am looking for high performing webserver. Best Regards Kamal

Homebox module needs some AJAX love

Over the last few weeks, I've put some work into pushing out a D7 port of Homebox. It's mostly working except for one item which is eluding me, and I was hoping someone on the list might perhaps be able to help fix the remaining item. You can enable an autosave setting for homebox pages, which should cause them to save via AJAX whenever blocks are moved on the homebox page, or are otherwise changed (resized, maximized, minimized, removed etc.). Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be working in 6.x-2.x-dev release or the 7.x-2.x branch I am working on which is based off of 6.x-2.x-dev. It's probably something simple; it is working on drupal.org, which is running a version very similar to the current 6.x-2.x-dev release. However, I can't track down where exactly things are going wrong. Node Token Replacement + CCK

Quick question: my original intention was to set it up so that people could use something like, for example, {{PRICE_OF_FOO}} in node content, so that when the price of foo changes, it only has to be changed in one place rather than in lots of different places. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I've used Token + Token Filter, so that people can use [token custom price-foo]. Everything works fine with: function custommodule_token_values($type, $object = NULL, $options = array()) { if ($type == 'custom') { $tokens['price-foo'] = "$19.99"; return $tokens; } } The next step was to stick a UI on this so anybody can update the price. To do so I created a new content type "tokens", and added CCK fields for foo_price, foo_version_number etc. The code now looks like: function custommodule_get_tokens(){ $node = new stdClass(); $node->nid =12; $node->vid = db_result(db_query("SELECT vid FROM {node} WHERE nid = %d",$node->nid)); $node->type = 'tokens'; $content = content_storage('load', $node); return array("price-foo"=>$content['field_foo_price'][0]['value'],"version-foo"=>$content['field_foo_version_number'][0]['value']); } function custommodule_token_values($type, $object = NULL, $options = array()) { if ($type == 'custom') { $tokens = custommodule_get_tokens(); return $tokens; } } Basically: is this the best way to do this, or is there a simpler/more native to giving users node tokens they can edit themselves. I wanted to check before I embarked on a round of clearing up the UI so that the "tokens" content type doesn't have all the menu/published/language stuff on etc, making sure people can't hit node/12 etc.

I have a custom module with form fields...I want to have file attachment below the form field...My custom module doesn't have any nid.. I tried doing the file attachment without nid...I am getting error... I want the functionlaity that we see when we enable the Upload module and go to create content type like page there we see file attachments... How can I do this for my custom module? Suppose If I create a custom content type and enable the upload module will I get the file attachments option in my custom content type? If so, how can I get this content type into my custom module which has the forms?

Alternative to drupal_bootstrap when we want to access Drupal data from other application?

Hello, I want to use some Drupal7 functions such as node_load, taxonomy_term_load in my custom written PHP applications. I managed to use them by running a full drupal bootstrap, function is okay, i.e. drupal_bootstrap(DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_FULL); $node = node_load(123); However, when profiling the code using Xdebug, I found drupal_bootstrap is just too heavy, i.e. used 80% of my application CPU time even I am doing simple query such as node_load. Of course, I can direct query the Drupal DB but I don't want to reinvent the wheel, but now seems it is too much overhead. Any suggestion when outside application want to access Drupal data, for the above basic query (read only)? Thanks.
