Hello world, we discussed the Drupal 4.7 release schedule at DrupalCON. The key message is that we're going to freeze and roll out a first release candidate in 2 weeks! If you maintain one or modules, this would be the time to start upgrading your modules. A release requirement is that enough contributed modules are updated to work with Drupal 4.7, hence my previous e-mail. Hopefully it is OK to cross-post between these two groups. :\ This is about documentation, but it's written for developers and I really need their input. I have created a forms API progammer's reference which is available in my sandbox: http://cvs.drupal.org/viewcvs/*checkout*/drupal/contributions/sandbox/webch… This contains 3 things: 1. A table of all elements and properties, which shows which can be used in each. 2. An elements reference containing all of the possible 'types' that form elements can be set to, along with their allowed attributes. 3. A properties reference containing a list of all the properties that I could find from grepping the source, along with their descriptions and to which form elements they belong. Each element/property is accompanied by a usage example to illustrate how it is used (randomly selected from various core modules), and I've also cross-referenced between elements and properties so you can quickly jump around to the information you need. "Required" elements properties are in bold on each form element (some not strictly required, but there would have to be a good reason to avoid them). If you guys could have a look and throw me your 2 cents on this document overall that would be awesome. Stuff in green is stuff that "should" be done and complete. Things marked in yellow are things I wasn't sure about. If you can shed light here, tell me where I've missed things, or say, "Yep, that's right" then I would really appreciate it. Once it is in a more completed state, I will move it to contributions/docs/developer/topics so it will be listed in drupaldocs.org. -Angie

[drupal-devel] Passing sql variables to a paged query

Hi all, I am trying to creat a useable profile search for an alumni site. The sql searches on up to 9 different profile values, which are selected in a form. I have used a paged query and the first page returns fine. However on page 2 the whole user list (2500 users) is returned because no variables are passed to the query. Is there any way I can pass the variables (as hidden form values?) to the pager query so that the pages return correctly. (If first process is blocked after first update before the insert, and second process ran first update query during the block, then you'd get two inserts.) If sequences was initialized with appropriate records in some other way, then this general approach would perform better than the current lock pattern. Hi! PHP 5.0.5 broke Drupal 4.6 (reference is now an error). Reading http://shiflett.org/archive/150 this, I can not care less and I am not likely to put any efforts into making Drupal PHP5 compatible. If my code is PHP5 compatible, fine, but I will not bother myself. (This does not mean slopy code, $_POST['op'] which results in notices is acceptable) I think I'll wait another year before looking again. Opinions, please. Regards NK

I would bet enum is faster (and no I don't have proof). The analyze function in phpMyAdmin even recommends enums in places it recognizes boolean values. Just because mysql would use enum, wouldn't mean pgsql would have to use bool - it could stay as an integer.
