OK, now I'm confused, since the standard changed slightly since I wrote my .info file. I changed the version string to version = "$Name" and committed the change. When I then run cvs update, the string in the info file returns as: version = "$Name: $" I assume that this is by design and I should not worry about it. But it does not conform to the documentation. The value of version in the .info files

Based on http://drupal.org/node/101009 the value of version should be $Name$ to allow the packaging system to do the right thing. I am finding values other than $Name$ in info files. Earnie Boyd

Be careful with the description value in the info files

I have noticed that several packages include info file descriptions that contain characters other than alphanumeric values. When you do this you need to quote the string. If you need to use " in the string then you need to use the " value to display the " character. For example: description = "This is my "crazy(a)email.com" email address" Will display correctly while description = This is my "crazy(a)email.com" address will cause Drupal to display an error when going to the modules menu. googtube filter for embedding videos

I've been lurking/using drupal for several years. Finally made something other people may be interested in using. googtube is a simple filter that converts urls to google and youtube videos to their embed code. http://cvs.drupal.org/viewcvs/drupal/contributions/modules/googtube/ It's kind of a quick hack and my first attempt at a useful regular expression. I would appreciate any comments -- especially any security concerns you might see. Thanks. A bit more about it... It currently takes a url to a video on either of the two sites no mater where it's located in the filtered text -- there is no formatting involved. I like it this way, since there is nothing for the user to learn, but if you have thoughts on this let me know. Requiring the url to be on it's own line would be the next best alternative. Keizo

end-of-life for Themedev module

Hello, Just a short note to say that I'm officially ending development of themedev.module, and if anyone is intrested in it please get in touch. I also wanted to ask what the policy is on closing up development of a module. I'm of the opinion that deleting the themedev project would be the best course of action right now (since themedev really has been surpassed by the likes of the Firefox 'Firebug' extension), I can see no viable use case for it. The code would of course remain in CVS in case anyone really wanted to revive it or steal code. Path alias memory cache is broken and 4.7.4
