Tarballs not created - What is missing?

I am currently the sole maintainer of the Greek translation (drupal.org/projects/el) In February, a user (fubar, http://drupal.org/user/107150) committed an (unfinished) Greek translation for Drupal 5 to HEAD without my knowledge. At the time there was no DRUPAL-5 branch, I noticed those files in CVS accidentally and I had a short conversation with fubar in an issue (http://drupal.org/node/125682) So, I decided to make fubar's work a 5.x-dev release. - I branched his files to a new DRUPAL-5 branch in CVS - I added a new project release for that branch. I waited 24 hours and no -dev tarball was created. In CVS, the DRUPAL-5 branch exists and contains the right files. In projects, there is only a pink entry with no files for el 5.x-1.x-dev in "view all releases" (http://drupal.org/node/11417/release) and there is no tarball. My next attempt was to add something myself into that branch and to make a specific release, so: - I committed a readme.txt file containing a "work in progress" notice to the DRUPAL-5 branch. - I tagged all the files of the DRUPAL-5 branch as DRUPAL-5--0.1-alpha - I created a project release for that tag. No luck. Another pink entry appeared for an el 5.x-0.1 release containing no files, and no tarball was generated. There have been several days since. What am I missing?

I have one of those messages on this work e-mail account as well (and it'll probably append itself to this message). The way I see it, the list is the intended recipient so no trouble with the disclaimer technically at this end, and my work knows I'm on open-source mailing lists, but I tend to only lurk on here and support whilst at work because I know it's annoying nonetheless. Actually, on that note, my work firewall blocks the CVS port for drupal.org - is there a non-advertised port that I could get to it on (I know some repositories do this). I'm only using it to make patches with Tortoise at this point but it'd be handy to be able to do that here rather than at home. No worries if not, but worth asking since it came up. Hi, While discussing http://drupal.org/node/130991 on #irc I got this: "i think its well over the level of comprehension of most except for a select few maybe, its not like no one is interested in it, far from it :)" While I actually disagree -- the code is not that complicated not at all -- you can still help, lots. I have followed up with a brief functionality description to encourage *functionality reviews* I will do the same in the future so people without deep code knowledge can help out. Thanks for that. Call for OSCMS 2007 slides and notes

(c/p from drupal.org front page, but I know not everyone here will have read that. ;)) If you gave a presentation at OSCMS (or attended one and took really good notes), please add a child page to OSCMS 2007 event page [http:// drupal.org/events/oscms2007] in the handbook with your stuff (slides, outline, etc.). Looks like several people have done this, but not everyone quite yet. Thanks!

I think Gerhard's message caught the essential crux of this (i.e. it won't work). However, I think there should be other ways to achieve your goals- it sounds like you are really trying to just require that nodes be in a group? Or maybe restricted to a group for some node types and not others? Maybe you just need some creative use of hook_form_alter and/or node validation? That, essentially, is the modification to user_access that I have created so that my module would work. Briefly, my OG User Roles module is designed to assign role(s) to a user restricted to the OG group he is in. Details on it are here: http://drupal.org/node/87679. What I have found is that my modified user_access (and therefore my proposed hook) works for node listing/view/updating/deleting, but NOT creating. I am able to create nodes with the modified user_access only if I call the node_add() function directly. Not a real good solution. So, I'm back here to ask: What else, besides user_access, does the default node/add mechanism call for permissions checks? Here's the scenario: I've given a user in a group a role which allows him to create a document. When his group menu comes up, he sees a "create" link to the document he's been given access to create (that means my modified user_access is working). However, when he clicks on the "create document" link, he gets "Access Denied" message. I wrote some debug code that writes out to a file the variable values from my modified user_access function when the user clicks on the "create document" link. What I noted is that the corect permissions and group context are always returned. What happens when it fails, i.e., user receives "Access Denied", is that the function loses the arg (arg(0), arg(1), arg(2)) values. They just disappear. This never happens on successful submissions. As you can probably see, I can't very well propose a hook if my simulated hook is not working correctly. Can someone give me some clue as to where I need to look in the node/add process to figure out why I'm losing the arg values and getting the denied error when user_access is bringing back the correct permissions? CVS issues

Hi! Is there any way to tell CVS to just undo everything I did yesterday? I want to roll back all the commits, untag everything I did, and undo the branches I made. I've gotten things very messed up because of CVSs weird sticky issues -- I was trying to do development on both 4.7 and 5 at the same time (I thought if I had completely different CVS checkouts, in different roots, it would keep track of which tag was proper, but it doesn't). Also, is there any way to delete a file from head, but not from the various branches?
