Development Peeps, I'm thinking of a module called: Select Option Values It would pull out part of CCK's text.module functionality from admin/content/node-type/<type machine name>/fields/field_<field name> and put it on its own admin page with it's own permission. The problem with the location of the setting, as it is now, is that you have to have "administer content-type" permissions in order to get there and that is something rarely given to a client, at least in my experience. But the allowed values maintenance for a select list is something I *want*to give over to client content-editors/admins. My current workaround is that I designate the body field of a particular unpublished node for that purpose and provide a link to it in a the custom admin area I typically build for site editors. I put the following code in the "Advanced usage only: PHP code that returns a keyed array of allowed values.": $node = node_load(17); // Replace "17" with node id of node containing options. $body = strip_tags(str_replace("\r\n","~",trim($node->body))); $arr = explode("~",$body); return drupal_map_assoc($arr); That work-around is okay, but it does feel like a work-around better solved by a module. Does this exist and I didn't find it? Is it needed in your estimation? Shai

custom_url_rewrite_outbound

Hello all, Would it make sense to allow the custom_url_rewrite_outbout to rewrite the base_url, not only the internal path? I have a need to do this with a client of mine and thought I'd throw the idea here to see if it warrants a patch, already done, or if there's another approach to do it. Why I may need this may be a little complicated, but in general, the client has multiple URLs for the same Drupal site, and he wants some of the links to send to the other site rather than internally within the same site. Send Contents of new node by email

Hi Drupalfriends After the user hits "Send" for a new cck node, I'd like to send the contents of this node by email. In order to do so I installed the print module. Then I call the appropriate function of the print module in hook_nodeapi. This works fine as long as I am the admin user. The anonymous user gets the access denied page. After some debugging it turned out, that at this point the node_access table is not yet written, which makes the access check of the print module thinking the anonymous user does not have the right to view this node. Any ideas to solve this problem? Simpletest question

All, Is there a way to figure out the table prefix that Simpletest generates at runtime? I am trying to run a test that does a bunch of inserts, then I need to figure out how many rows were created in the table. However, I can't query the table because simpletest changes the name of it every time. Help with CKFinder installation

Hi drupalers I've installed the module CKEditor into my website (not FCKeditor) and it works very well, so now i'm trying to install the filebrowser CKFinder but i getting the following error: CKEditor 3.1 You are using a feature that requires manual integration into config.php (either built-in filebrowser or quick uploads are enabled in the Avanzado<http://www.libreriadesalta.com.ar/admin/settings/ckeditor/edit/Avanzado>profile). Read instructions about enabling built-in file browser and add "require_once ..." statement in editor/filemanager/connectors/php/config.php. where to put settings for a proxy script?

Hi list, For the mapping kit module, I am using a proxy script to fetch external map layers into the openlayers client. Some settings for this proxy script are now inside the script file itself, e.g. which target hosts to allow, or which types of content of responses to accept. What would be the preferable place for these settings? For performance reasons, the proxy doesn't bootstrap a minimal Drupal, so the settings will not be configurable through the admin pages. I liked the suggestion at http://drupal.org/node/685732#comment-2517110 to put the settings in the default settings file. Is this more often done for settings that are 'static'? Regards, John

verbose_permissions_help Module Idea

While we are vetting module ideas.... I have been consistently underwhelmed with help that site builders/admins get when trying to assign permissions to roles. Permissions are incredibly important and obviously have big security implications, but that is often really hard to do with the often cryptic short phrases on the permissions page. While I understand the need for uncluttered UIs, I think the current approach for guiding admins in setting perms is inadequate. The Verbose Permissions Help module would create a hook_verbose_perm_help api function that would allow module writers to create extra help information for each permission. The module would then display that information via a tool tip or some other way (ideas?) that would display when hovering on an "I" icon next to the existing perm description. The module would likely provide the verbose help text for all core perms. Would module developers need to put hook_verbose_perm_help in a sub module activated separately so that a "call to undefined function" wouldn't pull down the site when the Verbose Permissions Help module is not there or not turned on? Does this exist? (It seems like what "Advanced Help" is trying to do is much more expansive and with a very different approach.) What do people think of the idea? Is this needed in your estimation? Easy to pull off? What am I not thinking of? Shai

Looking for co-maintainer

I maintain the Advanced User module and just haven't had time to look at the issues. My time has been totally used by real life work and family life recently and I do not foresee that changing in the near future. It the meantime there are some annoying issues that users are seeing and I haven't had time to research them.
