Consulting about speciall permission configuration

Hi all: I've created in my site a speciall user wich has a particular "role" Admin2. I have gave some speciall administrative permisions to him. in my site I have to activate the new accounts, and i need to give this permission to this user but I don't want to give him all the users administration permissions, only the hability to block and unblock user acounts, of course not the superadministrator user account. Good practice for module development

Automatic linking to module under "Create content"

autocomplete on api.drupal.org details

Hello Everyone, I've been really impressed with the speed and functionality of the autocomplete functionality on api.drupal.org--nicely done! I looked but could not find any details on how it was customized, for example so that the first suggestion in the "dropdown" is automatically selected. Altering an RSS Feed

My customer doesn't like the way the RSS feeds look. For example, on a taxonomy feed, they want to see the term description rather than the term name. And for blogs, they want to see RealName rather than userid. I am still looking, but am at a loss so far as to how to change these titles. Does anyone have a good idea? (Yes, I know how to code. Fully patched site hacked and cloaked

Hi, This is to share an (unpleasant) experience I had yesterday on a hacked site of a client (hacked despite fully patched modules and D6.15). It was apparent hackers used a cloaking method, i.e. the site appeared just fine to users but search engines saw a page full of drug advertisements. I found no trace of changes via user activity (revisions, user last access, etc.) and there was nothing suspicious in the source code of the cloaked pages. Eventually I found that the file bootstrap.inc had been altered (without changing the time stamp!) -- a whole chunk of obfuscated PHP code was added at the top of the usual Drupal code. I responded by reloading Drupal and locking up the site even more than up to now. This is to warn others about this hacking method, which may not be immediately apparent to webmasters. If anybody is interested in studying the obfuscated PHP code I found there, please contact me off the list. I also wonder whether Drupal could be adjusted so as to automatically set file bootstrap.inc, and perhaps other critical ones, as read-only. So far it is done only with settings.php file. drupal and recovering from errors

Hi all, I'm doing a master in communications and had a lot of courses on usability. A feature that keeps coming up in most of the heuristics is the ability to recover from errors. I've googled (a bit) on the topic and haven't found much yet, so I was wondering if there are existing modules or practices ? I guess a lot of people deal with this through database backups and restore nodes from there. I can also imagine that developers have their own system as for example letting content managers unpublish but not delete. Any other ideas, suggestions ? HnLn

Writing the Database Problems

Hi all, A few days ago, I posted a "reward" for help with some difficulties a friend was having writing to the database. As it turns out, he had forgotten to initialize a variable somewhere in the code and that was the problem. It took him a while to ferret out since it was failing silently at the db level. Thanks to all who responded - he now sees the advantage of sleep during the debugging process. :-) Thanks again..
