D7 node flow

I needed an extra checkbox along with Promote, Publish, etc. on the content type form, so used node_form_FORM_ID_alter to accomplish that. Now, if that box is checked, when content of that type is created I need an additional box in the same section. My problem is that the node form doesn't seem to have that field present from the content type form for me to interrogate. So I either should not have used the original hook to add the field to the content form, or I should be hooking something else in order to get that field added to the #node section of the node form. There are SO many new functions and hooks ... if there is a page with a graphic that lays out the flow nicely, or some narrative or good example module from which I can glean the answer, please tell me :) Jeff

error with hook_form_alter and views_filter

I have created a module to use date_popup on views filter. It works ok with just one date, but fails when applied to "between" operator (but only if both fields are changed, no error if I just change MAX or MIN). I'm thinking of writing a D6 module that will provide a breakdown of the components that make up the D6 site the module is running on. The purpose of of the module would be to enable people learning Drupal to see how a given Drupal site has been put together: what modules and themes have been used, how they have been configured, etc. I've had a very brief chat about this with one other Drupal user on Twitter who commented on the potential security problems this might raise, but from my point of view this shouldn't be an issue as the module would be "opt-in" and, more importantly, security through obscurity is rarely a good idea. Avoid caching of specific fields in table cache_fields?

Hi, Does anyone know if there's a way to avoid having fields cached in the database table cache_fields (Drupal 7)? This would have to be enforced from within the module that defines the field, regardless of which entity the field is attached to.. After digging in the code I suppose it's just not possible, but if you have any pointers, let me know! Sven

Custom Webform Module

I have a module that creates a web form for users to fill out. I'd like to track different campaign that access the same web form using a different URL so I can track hits and conversion rates for each URL. For example www.mywebsite.com/myform?campaign=june www.mywebsite.com/myform?campaign=july How in the module can I capture the extension (after 'campaign=') and redirect the user to a unique confirmation page based on the extension? How to run multiple email modules at the same time?

For our D7 websites we often have the need to run multiple email modules at the same time. Let's make an example: We want to sent mime encoded emails, make sure every email gets logged and we want to send it using smtp. There are nice modules for this: http://drupal.org/project/mimemail, http://drupal.org/project/maillog and http://drupal.org/project/smtp. But there's a problem. All of them do register itself as the default mail system. This means only one of them can exist at the same time. There's no way of letting them coexist and do their job one after the other. The mail system variable allows to set different mail_systems for specific modules and/or keys. But that doesn't help. Even if we would take the work and set maillog as the mail system for all our email sending modules. How can we sent them via smtp after they have been logged? I think that the only solution is a central registry, similar to what hook_filter_info (http://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/modules--filter--filter.api.php/function/h…) hook_node_info (http://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/modules--node--node.api.php/function/hook_…) or the wysiwyg module (http://drupal.org/project/wysiwyg) are doing for their particular need. Therefore I've written a module providing the appropriate hooks. Since the idea is to wire together mail modules I called it mailwire (http://drupal.org/project/mailwire) I provided also integration patches for some mail modules. Unfortunately I do not get a lot of feedback from the module maintainers. What would be the right approach to start a discussion and find a common solution? I think it would be big plus if Drupal would have an easy way to run any number of email formatting and sending modules in parallel. Regards Ernst
