D6 XML & 'head' - bug or unwanted feature?

I create an xml file in D6 from code that should result in: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UT-8"?> <video> <headline>mytext</headline> </video> What it results in is (I'll omit the xml tag for brevity's sake...it comes out fine) <video> <headline><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ut-8" /> mytext </headline> </video> If I put tags above, say, <dummy>mytext</dummy>, I get <video> <dummy>mytext</dummy> <headline><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ut-8" /> mytext </headline> </video> If I put the <meta> info in the output myself at the top, I get <video> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ut-8" /> <headline><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ut-8" /> mytext </headline> </video> What DOES work, in terms of getting the meta tag out of the <headline> tag, is to put another tag before it with the word 'head' , resulting in <video> <headdummy><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ut-8" /> mytext </headdummy> <headline>mytext</headline> </video>

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to ask Drupal related PHP questions, so please bear with me. However, whatever I check, I get USD rates, and also it lists all 29 values (all USD by the way) even if there are only 2. What do I need to do? Regards,

Hi initiative owners, participants, and developers, I'd like to urge you to move more or ideally all conversations that are currently held in private into the public, to this list. Open brainstorming, roadmap and proposal-style discussions and conversations are actually what mailing lists still excel in. - Everyone can chime in. No one is excluded. - Threads and sub-topics can be spawned easily, at any time, and are still tracked by everyone. - Discussions don't need to be announced, the discussion is the announcement. It's debatable whether the Development list is suitable or whether there should be a separate list. However, a new list would require infrastructural changes and everyone to sign up, and regardless of whether that is going to happen, we have this list here, so let's use it. Background: I'm very concerned about the initial and ongoing communication regarding D8 initiatives. Major technical discussions happen completely in private among a few peers only. Concrete proposals are worked out in the dark, presented as semi-final to the community, often not including considerations that led to certain suggested parts/details in a proposal, leaving little room for actual, open, and friendly discussions. Lastly, without some form of public announcement (which varies these days given Twitter, mailing lists, d.o issues, etc), no one knows that a post exists somewhere in the first place. I'm personally trying hard to follow and track all initiative discussions, and I bet it's not only me. But given their diversity/location on d.o and g.d.o, g.d.o's extremely poor subscriptions system, and the fact that many details aren't discussed in the public in the first place, it's practically impossible to stay in the loop. Most of these private conversations happen in e-mails already. So it's merely a matter of changing the recipient for your next mail/reply. Please do so. I also bet that most discussions on g.d.o posts would've worked much better as mailing list threads. Of course, final conclusive summaries gathered from discussions still make sense to be posted and updated on d.o or g.d.o. But most of the discussions were held in free form, chaos style brainstorming, partially spawned into sub-discussions, so a mailing list thread would have worked way better for everyone, since no one needs to subscribe to track the details. Improving Drupal performance using native gettext for translations

Hi, I'd like to know if anyone has ever experimented with making Drupal use the php gettext extension to retrieve the string translations from a binary gettext file (.mo)? We have recently made a patch that allows Drupal to do this. We published a blog post about it last week. The pre-compile gettext file is created with "msgfmt -o messages.mo drupal-es.po". When you place it at sites/whatever/locale/es/LC_MESSAGES/messages.mo, Drupal detects it and uses the gettext function to retrieve the translations from the file. It improves performance even in a clean Drupal install. Of course you loose the flexibility of the string translating interface but for sites with little changes to the translations and where performance is key this helps with hardware resources and scalability. This week we will be at Barcelona Drupal Days and for the code sprint we've planned to make some kind of interface that allows you to generate the .mo file directly from Drupal. Get the form for a node

I have searched a lot, but dont find the right way to do this. So what i want is to load the form for a node, the same form as if i am editing a node, something like: $node = node_load(1); $form = get_the_edit_form_for_this_node($node); I try: $node = node_load(1); $form = drupal_get_form('article_node_form', $node); But the resulting $form do not have the fields and the values for this node. Thanks for any help.

Programatically creating users w/Field API data

I'm looking for the "recommended recipe" for a common task -- creating users programatically. I'm trying to do this in D7 more or less the way it was done in D6 -- create an $edit array with the key attributes (name, mail, status), and passing it to user_save(). This works, but while I can save away Field API fields this way, the hack I'm using feels too low level. Here's what I mean. As far as I can tell, you need to do something like this: $edit = array( 'name' => "Killroy", 'mail' => 'killroy(a)washere.net", 'status' => 1, 'field_graffiti_location' => array( 'und' => array(0 => array('value' => '2nd and Main')), ), ); Pass this as user_save(NULL, $edit), and if users are set up with the field 'field_graffiti_location', and it does work -- user_save() calls the needed Field API calls to attach the data. Now, I worked this out using a debugger -- I haven't found any example code for this so far. But it strikes me as a very low level way of doing this, and fragile. Given that Fields were intended to make life simpler, I'm thinking There's Gotta Be A Better Way To Do This. Especially when we start talking about multi-valued fields and/or fields that take advantages of multi-lingual content. Is there? Are there recommended setters and getters for fields attached to an instance of an entity, or do developers need to muck around with what are basically Field API internals in order to do this? Drupal Menu Hiding

Hi I am new to drupal7 and unaccustomed to the User Interface elements so I am finding it a bit difficult to search about the problem I am facing. I've created a new custom content type by going to Structure>Content Types. Its basically a form along with image upload fields. Whatever user inputs I wanted it to automatically appear in the form of menu item. I installed auto_menutitle module in order to automatically copy content title as link title. Now in the bottom of this form a rectangular division comes with "Menu settings" written i left and some settings division in right ( http://twitpic.com/59924o) I want to hide this division from user without removing the access permissions. In order to hide if I am removing the access permissions of user then this menu is not appearing but its also disabling automatic menu item entry.
