Time interval inputs

Hello developers, I maintain a number of modules that are related to doing something at a user defined interval, e.g. every 30 minutes or 12 hours etc. Most times I just use a single select box and pre-generate some options that I think users will want, but of course some users (myself included) want to be able choose an exact, but custom, interval. Is there any module out there that provides a generic 'interval' form element? I've looked at core, and it just uses some custom code each time to generate a list of intervals and pop them in a select list. I've also looked at other contrib modules and some of them just provide a textfield and others provide a textfield for numeric input and a select list for 'units'. There doesn't seem to be a catch-all solution that I can find, and everyone seems to implementing intervals in a slightly different way. Tables in Themes in Drupal 7

I was just getting ready to tackle my first theme in Drupal 7, and is my practice, looking through the themes to find for one to hack into being mine, when I found that none of them used tables for layout. Now I have heard many people voice the opinion that tabled layouts (which I've been quite successful with) are bad, and CSS (which I am less prepared to deal with) are good. And in my ages of experience I have, up until now, assumed that the expressed choice between good and bad was based on (as it often is) what people had learned vs what they had not, and did not want to have to bother to learn, so I said nothing until now Now I see that Drupal 7 (a product I have some respect for) seems to have none, in those that I have looked into, at least. Did what I had perceived to be merely a prejudice of the lazy make it's way all the way into the D7 Platform, or is there some legitimate reason for abandoning tabled layouts that I have missed (must I finally buckle down to my own laziness and tackle CSS to that depth)? Why are Tables BAD and CSS GOOD (keep in mind, I'm after a good looking theme, and not good looking code, necessarily, since none of my end users will ever look at the code). I am looking for some reason other than good looking code (or someone's vision of correctness) to get behind CSS for my themes, and believe me "being easier" won't convince me much either. I'm guessing there must be some other good reason I've missed. What would that be? Warren Vail

Deleting content type imported via features module

Hi All, I have imported content type from my local D7 instance to the Dev server. Now I want to delete that content type from Dev server. I can't see delete link to delete that content type. It doesn't even get deleted if i uninstall feature module. Please help. Thanks -- :DJ

I've spent a couple days at this point trying to discover how something is being done, without much progress. I'd walk through it in debug, but the environment for this site is wamp and I'm equally unsuccessful getting phpStorm and xDebug to play nicely in Windows, so far. A D6 site using panels. A view producing a block. The panel page loads the block and overrides its path (well...technically not, but that's what the setting says) to be domain.com/music Have a module that implements pre-process, as well as registering a callback. The path in the callback is /music-xml. The pre-process implementation checks for arg(0) containing music-xml. The module registers its templates directory, which contains a template for page-music-xml.tpl.php. When invoking /music, the result is the callback or music-xml fires, arg(0) contains music-xml, and the template fires. The browser path, meanwhile, still says /music The problem is that I need to change the content type used in the view from music to something else, at which point it all breaks...arg(0) shows up just as music then, not music-xml. I've grepped the code, exported and grepped the db, clicked all the clickables (I think) in panels, check path aliases, strongarm ... I can't figure out how it's being done. D7 File API

Hi everyone, I'm upgrading my D6 module to D7 and am trying to work out the best way to implement the new File API... My module allows users to either upload a file from their computer, or enter the relative path of a file already on the server (e.g. /sites/default/themes/...). The relative path to this file is then stored in the DB. I'm not sure what to store in the database in the D7 version: the file URI (public://my_file.png) or the relative path as per the D6 version (/sites/default/files/my_file.png). The reasons I'm not sure are as follows: - Storing the File URI seems to be the obvious choice as that seems to be the default now - But how would I allow users to enter the path of a file already on the server in, say, their theme folder? - Storing the relative path is how I used to do it, so is easier - But then how do I change a relative path to a File URI when required (e.g. by the image_style_url() function)?
