I know this could be super late but I just wanted to say it. Nice job really from everyone, I liked the theme really much since you started talking about it in the mailing list, I was just too busy to give more eyeballs. Now that I did, I've some notes on the demo I seen on http://istyledthis.nl/and http://www.xcite-online.de/drupal : 1. Resizing the browser to a certain size will make the page vertically scrollable, not only this but the background for the right bar ends before the right bar itself ends, I think this is due to giving a DIV in the top area 100% width and it's the background image carrier. I think the background image might be split between multiple layers. 2. When viewed in Lynx or in Firefox with styles disabled, all page content appear with no spaces between which makes it hard to differentiate between blocks, this can be fixed easily putting few line breaks here and there. 3. If it's not now so when are we going to style buttons and input elements? A background image for buttons will make buttons shiny and really different and a hover for input elements in a la Mozilla style will make up the theme. 4. The page looks really great in the upper part, scroll down and you'll really lose it. This means that any long page will look ugly. I'd like to see the white lines between the content and the right and left bars to continue until the bottom. 5. The theme imports about 6-7 CSS files which means way much CSS files, this has effects on connections made per single page request. 6. It's really awesome, it's the best theme I've ever seen for Drupal. Hope this wasn't too much.

docs for new release system

hi folks, i know the documentation team is totally understaffed and overworked, so feel free to ignore this request. ;) also, i'm cross-posting to the devel list since i know many people there care about the new release system but probably aren't subscribed to the documentation list, and maybe someone from devel-land wants to help... the new release system is now mostly blocked on documentation. i'm not really going to have a chance to work on it for at least a few days, and i do have a few hours of code cleanup to do, too. if anyone here wants to help, i'd be *very* grateful if someone wanted to contribute by doing a first draft of any of the below docs. most of the info you need is already here: http://drupal.org/node/90436 additional text could be lifted from the handout i gave at drupalcon: http://drupal.org/files/new_release.pdf (though, a few of the details in the handout are now outdated, and the info in #90436 should be used whenever the 2 conflict). mostly, we just need someone to split up this existing text and put it into a form more easily digested by the various kinds of people interacting with the new system. i see the need for a few different kinds of docs: 1) docs for project maintainers on how to use the new system 1a) what tags and branches should be created in the CVS repo: - a subpage of http://drupal.org/node/22288 (probably as a re- write of http://drupal.org/node/17570) ? - re-write/update of http://drupal.org/node/1002 ? 1b) how to make release nodes: - new page, probably a subpage of http://drupal.org/node/7765 ? - perhaps as a re-write of http://drupal.org/node/22571 ? 2) docs for drupal users to understand the new version numbering scheme for contrib - rewrite of the section of http://drupal.org/handbook/version-info on contrib modules 3) very short front-page story node announcing when the system goes live that points to the other new/updated docs. bert boerland volunteered to try to make some charts/graphs relating to the new system. for example, perhaps a flow-chart of how a release goes from code in a developer's head or patches in the issue queue into the repo, how it gets tagged, turned into a release, and eventually deployed on someone's production site... (i guess, the exact diagrams are up to him). i'm not sure what images he'll create, or what the best location for them will be, but the flowchart idea would probably work nicely to supplement 1b in my list above. if anyone else is inspired to make pretty pictures about any of this, i'd be thrilled to review drafts of any images folks want to generate. my goal is for the UI to be self-explanatory, but if someone thought annotated screenshots would be helpful of the release node add form, that's another possibility... if there are any volunteers for any of this, please let me know. thanks! -derek p.s. I've started at Z and gone through W with the page filter set to "all". I tagged, !--break'd, and cleaned up where I could. These are the remaining issues I see with the modules in those letters: zippy images - Only release is cvs. Needs a better description Z39.50 Search - Last release is 4.6. Ystock - Last release is 4.6. xstatistics - Needs a better description but I don't get the module well enough to write it. workspace - Description makes good teaser, but could use more meat on main page worklog - Has a 4.7 version but default is cvs workflow - Has a 4.7 version but default is cvs worldfilter - Has a 4.7 version but default is cvs wiki404 - Only release is cvs. Last update Apr 2006. Could use a better desc. if it's not abandoned. whatsrelated - Last release is 4.6. Defaults to cvs. wgHTML - Last release is 4.6. weight - Description says "Module now works with both 4.6 and 4.7 (CVS) versions of Drupal." cvs is default. 4.6 version not listed. Weekly node listing - Has 4.7 version but 4.6 is default Webserver Auth - Has 4.7 version but 4.6 is default WebMedia - Only release is cvs. Screenshots require logging in to view. Weblink - Desc says "This module is discontinued after CVS/HEAD" Last version is 4.6. Possibly change that note to be clearer with versions? webcomic - Has a 4.7 version but default is cvs Weather - cvs default. 4.5 only other version. Demo page not found. Project owner email is listed as drupal-devel(a)drupal.org waypath - Only release is cvs. Last update Apr 2006 A lot of them need the default download changed. I didn't do that because I felt that's something the maintainer should do in case there's a reason it's set as it is. Some of the modules haven't been updated since 4.6 or before. If these have been abandoned, I suggest putting a note as such in the description. If you see any of your modules here, I'd appreciate it if you could either make the change or let me know why it shouldn't be changed. can't add DRUPAL-5 tag

A quick question re: using CVS. I just updated a module, but I'm getting an error whan I try to apply the DRUPAL-5 tag: $ cvs tag DRUPAL-5 ** ERROR: invalid tag for this directory: ** contributions/modules/og_mandatory_group cvs tag: Pre-tag check failed cvs [tag aborted]: correct the above errors first! for some of my module's i have avoided branching them until the next core is branched, and was planning to do that again. Can the DRUPAL-5 tag only be applied as a branch tag? thanks, -Peter
