RSS Feed referencing a userreference as the item author

I have a bit of a problem with something I am trying to implement on a client site, and I was hoping someone would be able to suggest a decent way of implementing this. The site is a magazine / news site. The site has articles held in an 'article' content type, where the article authors are held in a multi-value userreference field. The actual node author is the editor who created the content on the site. Now we are trying to set up RSS feeds for the information, and the fact that we are storing authors in a userreference field is a bit of a stumbling block. We currently are trying to work a solution with views_rss (http://www.drupal.org/project/views_rss) but it looks like it doesn't handle userreference fields at all. Has anyone tried to do this before? What's the best way to get it done? If absolutely necessary, I could create a page callback to generate the RSS manually, however, there are probably 10-15 different feeds this would need to be done for. I appreciate any and all comments. Brian

Take Over Page Output from Module

The Print module, Book module's export functionality, the s5 module, they all have this trick of taking over the entire page output for their own theme function. I am building a module that is headed toward a more generic mechanism for funneling content through a pluggable template, but despite pouring over the code I can't see the magical place where all other Drupal markup is dropped in favor of the HTML document described in my own template file. What's the trick? I have a menu callback along the lines of "present/%node" and it leads to an export function that returns my theme function, which is a template outputting a complete HTML document.

Setting the region in hook_block

I have a theme that contains the region content_bottom. The region appears in the select boxes at admin/settings/block. I have a module that implements hook_block with: function mymodule_block($op = 'list', $delta = 0, $edit = array()) { switch ($op) { case 'list': $blocks[block1] = array( 'info' => 'Block 1', 'cache' => BLOCK_CACHE_GLOBAL, 'weight' => -1, 'status' => 1, 'visibility' => 1, 'region' => 'content_bottom', 'pages' => '<front>', ); return $blocks; and the block always appears in the disabled list. I tried using TRUE instead of 1 for status, which shouldn't make a difference, and didn't. The docs don't actually give an example of using region, other than saying you can, and a grep of 'region' starting at the document root in a module-laden sandbox seems to come up empty, so I'm not quite sure where to look. one AHAH action, two modified elements

Hi, I was wondering whether any of you has managed to do this: I have an ahah-enabled button in a form and two other independent elements. I wish to be able to change both of these independent elements by pressing the button, i.e. in a single ahah action. Passing an array of elements to drupal_render partly does the trick but the binding only takes place for the wrapper of the current element, with the other one not being changed. Any ideas? OT: CVS access problem

Hi, Not sure where else to post this and apologize as this a bit off topic... I'm having problems accessing my Drupal.org CVS account to support my contributed modules. Using the password reset interface doesn't seem to help. Cheers, Mike

Drupal 7 API Change notification: $db_prefix removed, results

*We try to notify this list when API changes are made in Drupal 7, so contrib and custom developers have a chance to fix their code before they have the pain of figuring out why it's broken. *Two API changes to report today. The first probably affects any site or module which makes use of $db_prefix, and the second probably affects nobody: 1. All handling of *database prefixes *was changed (issue<http://drupal.org/node/195416>). global $*db_prefix has been removed*, which affects settings.php in any existing Drupal installation which uses it. Also, any module which uses the APIs surrounding database prefixes (think Table Wizard, Data, Views 3, etc.) then you will be affected and need to study the API changes. 2. An obscure FAPI change (issue <http://drupal.org/node/736298>): If any contrib module is setting #*access=FALSE *or #*disabled=TRUE *of a clicked button within a #*process function *it will need to change that into either a proper multi-step form or move that code into a #pre_render function. Multiple drupal Installations using Single Database

My Host-provider provided only 2 Mysql databases for me! I want to install 3 or more Drupal websites for each department in my university. i.e. each website in subdomain1.domain.com, subdomain2.domain.com, etc. Each website should be independent with other as webmasters for each site will be different. I tried out with sites/default/default.settings.php also but i got struck somewhere in coding there! please help me in this regard! Map a webservice object with dynamic fields to a Drupal node

Hi, I am working on a module that will integrate an external opensource project with Drupal. The idea is that the other project manages the data, while Drupal is responsible for the visualisation. I am retrieving the data through webservices (SOAP or REST). The fields that are coming in from the external system are not fixed (i.e. the person setting up an instance of the system defines the fields), and I want to make the integration module generic enough to be able to deal with different configurations of fields. The aim is to make a Drupal node for each object that is coming in through the webservice. However I'm not sure what the best way would be to link / map the incoming data to the Drupal node. The fields will be fixed per installation of the Drupal module Right now I have spotted a few possible roads: - attach the data object to the $node object via nodeapi. This will however limit the flexibility for visualisation a lot (apart from having a theme function for it) - use the http://drupal.org/project/data module. Haven't delved a lot into it, and I'm not sure if it will do everything I want - Use / create a system that can map the incoming fields with cck fields. Not sure if anything like that exists. Feeds module does something in that direction if i recall correctly. Does anyone have any ideas or pointers on how I could go about tackling this problem? Thanks i advance. Sven
