[OT] Eclipse Helios

Hi all, I just tested Eclipse Helios, latest release from this month (using a Linux 64bits OS), and I felt a real change, PDT PHP editor seems to be really faster (and seems to do a better code completion also!). Others noticeable changes is, I did not tested yet, it seems they have reworked the JavaScript support. For Eclipse users, you should give this new release a trial, for others, if you ever have been looking for a good IDE, you might want to test it (I'm not forcing you guys, and don't want to throw a flameware). Hi all, I am new to Drupal and I am trying to create a website that would allow people to search for and vote on items. I have been considering creating my own custom module or using the CCK framework. I don't know how to do either one of the two, so I would like your advice on which path I should take that would be most convenient for developing my page (description below). If you are able to point me to other tools that you think would be helpful that would also be appreciated. Thank you, Pan *Here is the description:* 1. The page will have a series of filtering options, which users could select by clicking on buttons and check boxes. 2. This input would be used to query my database for items that have a similar description and return a image and information of similar items to the user. (For the images, I am planning to store the image location on the database and use location to retrieve the image from the file system.) 3. After these items are displayed the user should be able to vote on one item and this data would be tracked. Users should also able to undo their vote and vote on a new item.

Drupal 7 API Change notification: system_settings_form() automatic defaults reverted, hook_menu_active_handler_alter() removed

*We try to notify this list when API changes are made in Drupal 7, so contrib and custom developers have a chance to fix their code before they have the pain of figuring out why it's broken. *FIrst, *system_settings_form() *had until this weekend an "automatic defaults" capability, removing the need to set '#default_value' => variable_get('whatever', 'def') in your system settings form. The automatic defaults capability was rolled back (issue <http://drupal.org/node/266246>) so that means that wherever you have been using system_settings_form() without explicitly setting the #default_value to a variable_get(), you will have to go back in and set it up as you would have in Drupal 6. This is a significant API change and will have widespread impact, so check your system settings forms. Second, *hook_menu_active_handler_alter() *was removed from Drupal 7 (issue<http://drupal.org/node/838408>), so if you have used that, you will have to rework your code. Hi. I am hooking a node form. The content type has a cck node reference field, and the form has a text field to select the node. In some cases, the user should not be allowed to select...the value should be forced. So I decide which field name to use based on the content type, and then change the text field to a hidden field like this: $form[$var] = array( '#type' => 'hidden', '#value' => $nid, ); The form comes up just fine. The problem is, when it is submitted, I receive: *Fatal error*: Cannot unset string offsets in *sites\all\modules\cck\content.module* on line *1248* Thanks, Jeff

Ahah issues

Hi Hoping someone can help shed some light on this because I'm getting nowhere fast and I'm sure it will be something obvious. I've got a form (node edit form) with ahah elements (textfields, radios etc). Some of the html returned includes additional form elements that also have ahah elements but the ahah behaviours aren't being attached to the new elements. In my code I'm using the following to return the settings with the data: $javascript = drupal_add_js(NULL, NULL, 'header'); drupal_json(array( 'status' => TRUE, 'data' => theme('status_messages') . drupal_render($form), 'settings' => call_user_func_array('array_merge_recursive', $javascript['setting']) )); And from the firebug console I can see my new elements in returned json in the settings.ahah object but after the ahah submission is finished they don't make it to Drupal.settings.ahah so when the ahah behavior is rerun at the end of the ahah success callback, my new elements don't get ahah goodness. Any ideas what I'm missing here? Lee Rowlands

Modifying js settings from ahah?

Hi! I'm working on hook_form with AHAH elements. I need to be able to add new AHAH elements. Unfortunately, when I add a new AHAH element, the javascript settings are not updated (and possibly the behaviours are not run?), so the new elements don't work properly. All calls to *entity_invoke*('whatever') must be replaced by the equivalent module_invoke('entity_whatever', ...). Changing button #name?

Hi! I'm trying to build an AHAH form which allows users to add and remove steps. I'm building a table like: > Id Note > ---------------------------------------------- > 1 [This is a step ] <remove> > 2 [This is another step ] <remove> > 3 [Make me an offer! ] <remove> > > <add step> In order to be able to determine which remove button was pressed, I'm creating them like: array( '#type' => 'button', '#name' => 'remove_btn_' . $row_id, '#value' => 'remove', '#ahah' => ... ) I'm doing this because otherwise the form state shows the clicked_button always as the last of the remove buttons created. According to the forms_api_reference on api.drupal.org, in the section for '#name', > All button and submit elements on a form should have the same name Am I breaking something by setting the name for each button separately? using jquery to access a form element

I am adding some jQuery to my form to update a field value. It works but I think there should be a better way to select a field, I use "$('#...')" but I am worried it will not work if form is shown twice in a page.
