New Asterisk Call Detail Record (CDR) module

I've had a quick email chat with hunmonk about this a few weeks ago... Not sure if anyone's using Asterisk, and moreso Asterisk CDRs -> mySQL, but I'd been using Asterisk-Stat V2.0 for some time, and it's terribly outdated, so I'd decided to create a Drupal module to handle Asterisk CDRs. asteriskcdrs. The project can be found here: http://drupal.org/project/asteriskcdrs I've released a preliminary package, but if others are using the system, I would love to get some feedback on where to grow this module. For now, it mainly allows you to search call detail records and view details on each. I plan to add in reporting, and maybe graphing. It's a little bit finnicky in the setup now, so please let me know if folks run into setup issues, and I can walk you through anything that needs to be done (read: I had to hack in the ability to add an an auto-incrementing field to the CDR table, as Asterisk doesn't put one in there). Drupalcon video archiving

Sorry for the cross-posting (so don't reply), but I'm trying to help organize video and audio archiving at Drupalcon Boston, so everyone who can't make it can follow the action, and we can catch all the sessions we missed. I started a thread where you can post if you're able to volunteer equipment (video cameras, laptops, etc.) and most importantly, your time: http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/drupalcon-video-archiving-and-streaming If we have enough volunteers we might be able to archive all simultaneous sessions, and even do live streaming. otherwise, we'll archive as much as we can! Batch API Help (data import in phpBB2Drupal)

hi all I am the current maintainer for the phpbb2drupal module and am trying to get it to batch import data. First step: Import users. I have read the batch_example (http://drupal.org/node/180528 ), but I cannot make it work for this module. gearing up for a 6.0 RC4

Hey, >From the looks of the criticals queue, we need to push out an RC4 before the final release can be rolled. We fixed several critical issues in the last few days, and some are still to be fixed. The list is not too long, so please help test patches there: http://drupal.org/project/issues?projects=3060&categories=bug,task&prioriti… I also drafted an RC4 announcement for publication. If someone feels like making it better, hop to http://drupal.org/drupal-6.0-rc4 (only people with permission to edit unpublished full HTML nodes again). Ideally, RC4 could be out in around 8-9 hours today, but the critical bugs will define the exact schedule. It would be great to see a final 6.0 out early next week. Please help in the criticals queue to make this happen. Minor code tweaks might make the code look better, but in fact do not help the Drupal 6 release stabilize as much as the same time spent on the critical bugs. Thanks, Gabor

FAPI and _display hook

Maybe there is a clean way to recycle most of FAPI if you don't need to save anything in _submit but if you'd just like to produce some output based on form input? eg. you've 2 fields and the form "landing" page should display the product (the landing page may still be the form path itself). If there is such a technique that let you intercept $form_values and $form_id outside _submit _validate and display output accordingly I'd be glad to know. Otherwise I'd really enjoy to see a _display hook that in spite of showing the form or redirecting somewhere else would just have access to $form_id and $form_values as _validate and _submit but would output something else other than the form. -- Ivan Sergio Borgonovo http://www.webthatworks.it

override theme_maintenance_page

I have a client who's concerned with the content and appearance of pages when Drupal is unable to connect to the database. I agree with their concerns. Take for example, the "unable to select database" page. This shows the database host, database name, and database username used by the site. It also shows the Drupal logo instead of the customer's logo. None of these are things that the public should see, even in the case of a fatal error such as not connecting to the database. (Although I recognize these messages are appropriate when a user is an administrator installing Drupal or troubleshooting, so I don't suggest changing them by default.) On Drupal.org, there are variety of posts about how to override theme_maintenance_page(). The clean approaches do not work when the database cannot be reached (because the site's default theme is unknown, you can't override theme_maintenance_page the normal way). I'm thinking of following the example used by custom_url_rewrite. For those who don't know, the custom_url_rewrite() function can be defined in settings.php and if found, path.inc will make use of it. In my case, theme.inc's theme_maintenance_page would have code like: if (function_exists('custom_maintenance_page')) { $output = custom_maintenance_page($content, $messages, $partial); } else { // Current theme_maintenance_page goes here... } return $output; My questions for this list are: is this a reasonable approach and would a patch to this effect make it into core? Inline API / Wysiwyg API

Finally, I found some time to write down my thoughts about "inline" (macro-generated) contents and integration of Wysiwyg editors (including editor plugins) in Drupal over at http://groups.drupal.org/node/8707. The proposed Inline API gets more and more in shape. Every interested developer should not hesitate to download the current development snapshot (http://drupal.org/node/217406) To answer this question in advance: Flexifilter is a completely different module, that allows custom filtering of contents via rules supplied by a administrative users. Inline API is rather a low-level module, providing easy but powerful input filtering through a standardized macro-syntax, and more(tm). For reference, you might also want to read the original proposal for Inline API over at http://drupal.org/node/80170 (which became almost 1,5 years old in the meantime). It contains pointers to several other contrib modules that would benefit from this API. Ideas, comments, general reviews, and criticism should go into the post at g.d.o. Sophisticated feature requests and bug reports should be turned into issues against Inline 5.x-2.x, over at http://drupal.org/project/issues/inline. I don't know yet which parts of Inline API will be re-usable for the proposed Wysiwyg API, or whether Wysiwyg API will partially dependent on Inline API. Drupal for Fun

I'm making a proposal for a presentation in the track "birds of a feather" at DrupalCon, with the title "Drupal for Fun". It will be a showcase of fun modules that serve unusual purposes. In addition to being entertaining, they also help us explore beyond what Drupal was (or wasn't) meant to do. To give you an example, an idea I recently implemented is an API for jquery games allowing you to play with other users online, and a TicTacToe module using that API.
