Need advices from Drupal guru: develop modules that support multilanguages

Dear all I have a project building a portal site (somewhat like myspace.com) for 4 countries: - Japan - Spain - France - England Outline: When users access toppage, system will: 1) check which country is this user from 2) Then redirect user to page that displaying content in corresponding to him/her country language Pages for each country is different in language but totally same in content: Subject, title, label, and main content body also. So I need advices from you: About 1): first option is: I planned to uses Accept-Language request header from browser to check where user is from. Second option is: I planned to user Multiviews in Apache to handling this. And I will redirect user based on above returned result. So my question is: - Above solutions is OK? - Do I need to pay any attention on something? - Is any better solution out there? About 2) I would like to receive any advices from you about: - Ex about using t() function, handling date and times etc - text strings used commonly such as labels on form buttons. - body content such as blog articles, informational pages and static blocks - And any others. Ahah sometimes working, different users

I'm doing my first AHAH coding. I have a "SELECT" in a form that is doing Ahah on event=change. For now, the returning code simply puts the selected value into a string and displays it in the wrapper. When I log in as the admin user, it works fine. When I log in as another user, the value of the select is not coming across in the POST from the ahah script. ie: the code runs and I see the result, but the result is an empty string because the is no $_REQUEST['field-name'] set. Has anyone seen this? -Matt

3 blocks combine into 1 block

Is it possible, combine 3 blocks into 1 block that is aussume block1,block2,block3, These three block i want to display in the same page, what ever navigations will happen, But i must display all threee blocks in the same pages only... thanks

I didn't think to use a DOM/CSS inspector because it didn't occur to me that this would be a DOM/CSS problem. Since part of the field was there, I thought it must have two different copies of the data somewhere, with one being incomplete. I think I still need to use the DOM/CSS inspector now, even though the problem is gone, because I want to find where in my stylesheets the display:none is occurring that it shouldn't. I assume that's the root cause of the issue, and will use Firefox to find out. Perhaps (and I'll check this first) there are different ID or CLASS attributes assigned by t() depending on the nature of its field substitutions. If you're working with Drupal 5, menu_get_menu() in includes/menu.inc is the only function I'm aware of that reads or writes cached menu data. In Drupal 6 there are quite a few more. Search for calls to cache_set and cache_get with 'cache_menu' as the second parameter. If you're writing a whole new database driver, my first guess would be charset issues - I once accidentally converted a MySQL table to the wrong charset and it broke the serialized data. -john

In Drupal I can have simple navigation such as Home->Blog But I want to more deep hierarchy like below: Home->Product->ABCproduct list->When click any link on this list->ABC products detail individual displayed. So my questions are: - Is there a way to implement this without coding? - In order to implement this, do I need to create new content type named Product? If yes, Is there a way to create this content-type without coding? Thanks in advanced.

Taxonomy term moderation

Hello there, i went through all taxonomy associated modules descriptions and haven't found this feature, we need to let users suggest taxonomy term for their entries, if they suggest it their node already has association with it but the term is waiting for approval as soon as term got approved than its shown on in the vocabulary tree and in the node published by the user. Any suggestion on implementation ? should we approach it using db_query rewrite and made possibility to have term published /unpublished state or via making 2 vocabularies and than try to sync them(this seems on the beginning easier but taking into account we will get alot of terms and not all of them will be approved that can lead to pretty inconsistent production vocabulary?) Do you have any experience with similar functionality or any advices ? -- - Mac
