Heres how I have allowed multiple users to be able to edit one node. Custom node_access module hook__node_access_records() // add the admin access row $grants[] = array( 'realm' => 'og_admin', 'gid' => $node->group, 'grant_view' => 1, 'grant_update' => 1, 'grant_delete' => 1 ); return $grants; then.. hook_node_grants() foreach ($account->og_groups as $group) { if ($group['is_admin'] == 1) { // grant this user admin priv over all nodes in group $grants['og_admin'][] = $group['nid']; } } return $grants Then hook_enable() node_access_rebuild(); Its simple and it works. I may have some typos in there but thats the basic idea. Same trick can be applied to roles. I think this is pretty much a moot point. You can easily add a multiple valued text field and display that everywhere, including Views. Actually, we really do need a core solution for this because of the fact that users are tied to nodes in so many ways other than what they display to the end user. What happens to a node that is authored by several people but 'owned' by only one when the owner's record is deleted or inactivated? There's no way to transfer ownership to the other authors, because we don't know who they are. If we have a way to link to multiple authors, if one goes away the links to the others remain. I do think this may be an example of what CCK in core might do in D7 -- the node author becomes a multiple value userreference field instead of a single value field. Also, for whatever it's worth, whether you need this at all depends on your environment. In the blogging world, the people who write the blogs are the authors and the current system works fine. When you talk about tracking issues, again, the people who write the issues are the authors, and there's a one-to-one relationship that works fine. But when you start talking about books or when you're publishing material in the business or academic world, 'authorship' and 'ownership' of nodes needs to be more flexible. Either way, this is clearly something that won't happen until D7, but it's good to discuss. I think this would be a step in the right direction. But even a revision might have multiple authors. Take the case of a group of people that has been working together to solve a problem and publish the results. They all ought to get credit as authors, instead the credit will go only to the person who input it into the system (who might even just be an assistant and not one of the authors). The new 'add more' AHAH button in D6 could be useful here to build a list of authors. Forms API and Array

Does anyone know whether FAPI can create repeating input fields of the form: <input name="myfiled[]"/> <input name="myfield[]"/> Or some such equivalent. I'd like the stuff returned in a $form_values['myfield'] variable as an array of values I'm thinking about doing a custom helper function to accomplish this but would love to hear best some ideas about how to approach this. Recruiting security team members

Hello, at Drupalcon Barcelona I stepped forward to help coordinate the security team. Heine is still the security team lead. It's now been over three months since we've introduced changes to the security team and it's time to review our team and look to add new members. http://drupal.org/node/32750 You might have noticed that we have had over 30 security announcements in 2007. As a result of expanding security oversight to include not just core, but also contributed modules we've had to try to coordinate the releases. This is due to getting volunteers to review the announcements, as well as coordinating the 4 core maintainers, and at least the security team lead to work together. If you've ever tried to coordinate a meeting across 9 time zones you can imagine how difficult this can be, especially since our release system is automated. If you have availability to review security announcements on a regularly scheduled basis with several days notice please let me know. This is a task that is currently done by Robert Costello, myself, and the reporters of security issues. If you have security skills and would like to be part of the security team that participates in developing patches for core and contributed vulnerabilities please submit your candidacy to security(a)drupal.org, detailing your skills, and experience. If you would like to help build the security team infrastructure, such as creating a mailing list to inform CVS account holders of security best practices, or help to administer the security.drupal.org website please let us know. If you would like to write documentation or educate the Drupal community about security issues please let us know how you would like to contribute, and we will give handbook permission to write documentation on Drupal.org. If you find yourself frustrated that the security team is not responding to your issue fast enough, please send a note to the security team expressing your angst combined with your offers to assist in the coordination of other activities. Keeping Drupal sites secure, and helping to coordinate the security releases for over 2400 Drupal projects is an awesome responsibility. help with the auto translate module?

Idan- There already is an auto translate module: http://drupal.org/project/i18n_auto This module has the same issue that you mention, which is caused by Google's compression of the special characters. Aaron Winborn and I just submitted 4 tasks to the GHOP queue (well, they're all in one issue, but will be split into 4 tasks) to bring this module out of Dev and into a full version (part of the task is to fix this exact issue): http://drupal.org/node/208539 Care to work with us to fix this module, rather than create a new one? Google translation module

Hello, I'm working on a module to auto translate nodes on my websites. I'm using google translate to do this. I've encountered a problem that I was hoping someone would have an idea how to solve..when I translate a text that has "special characters", mainly those that aren't English, and I try to display them, I get characters that are black diamonds. When trying to display those using drupal with drupal set message, something strange happens, it seems like drupal just ignores the entire function. I'm trying to print it out of a nodeapi hook, and the when I do all the other drupal_set_messages aren't displayed, even those that come before. Anyway, I think I've isolated the problem to the encoding of the characters, but I don't know how to solve it. I see the characters with the black diamonds when I print_r($translation), in this case I only see them. And when ever I try to drupal_set_message them I don't see anything. If I translate a text that doesn't have one of those characters, all is well. For example, imagine that i have a module called monedas and i need be able to access to a url like: http://localhost/monedas exactly like, for example, the postcard module. It has a function named postcard_page, but i haven´t find any documentation about this hook. thanks a lot in advance
