Hi! A while ago webchick pointed out http://www.php.lt/benchmark/phpbench.php this site for me. The most striking difference is using in_array on a non-set variable. core has 118 in_array calls :) some wanna check them? Regards NK

Important nodeapi change

Hi! Sorry for not announcing this change on Monday. nodeapi op 'form' is no more. Use hook_form_alter instead. This lets you not just add to the node form but change at will. See the core modules for examples. The conversation process is the following: let's suppose we have foo.module , and it compiles its nodeapi form in _foo_form which takes one argument, $node. and the last command is return $form (core actually had such functions). Then we can rename _foo_form to foo_form_alter and wrap the code as follows: function foo_form_alter($form_id, &$form) { if (isset($form['type']) && $form['type']['#value'] .'_node_form' == $form_id) { $node = $form['#node']; // _form_form code follows: $form['foo']['myfield'] = array(...); // the final return is not needed because $form is a reference. } } I added this to the handbook, too. Hi everybody! I'm trying to understand how node previews (during editing) works under drupal. Are there hooks for this? I saw node.module uses _preview() but didn't find any docs on using it. Does someone know how to do this? Thanks Fabio

Memory profiling revisited

Hello folks, I've been talking performance/memory with my sysadmin again and I was prompted to re-do the memory profiling code that I set up a couple months ago. This is based on a svn version of CivicSpace Lab's Drupal Distro so is running on Drupal 4.6. Hi everybody. I just received a bug report on the bug tracking system of my css.module . http://drupal.org/node/40340 As wrote there function valid_input_data has been removed from 4.6.4 . Why does it been removed? What can we use for input checking? filter_xss? I think that this change (and others) should be documented on the handbooks. Thanks. Fabio
