Hi, With due acknowledgement of what Eddie Wong does for Drupal, I am now going public because this can not continue: Eddie, your followups most of the time are not relevant to the issue, and they are way too long. I am asking you in public to change -- please make your point in one or two sentences if at all possible and only if it is about the issue at hand. I asked this before in various issues without any effect. (To be more concrete: just what does clustering to with my db_lower patch??) I am quoting people from #drupal who also happens to work on the database layer (not me): Q: "Who is hswong3i, and why is he so obsessed with commercial clustering solutions?" A: "[...] he's so focused on Oracle to the exclusion of everything else, even when he then proposes patches that make life difficult for everyone except Oracle users, that I have to try hard to not oppose Oracle support on principle." What I really want is to insert/remove form fields, not just their values. redirect login block when user enters wrong user/pass

Hi First, I realize what I'm doing isn't the most usable, but it's how the client wants it. On the homepage, the user login block is styled all fancy and compact. Unfortunately, it's compactness prevents a place for an error message if the user messes up their username or password. So, what I'd like to do, when the form fails validation, is redirect the user to "/user" which displays the regular login form along with the error messages that would of displayed within the block. I tried the following (in my own module), function myutility_form_alter($form_id, &$form) { switch ($form_id) { case 'user_login_block': $form['#validate'] = array('utility_user_login_validate' => array($form_id, $form)); unset($form['links']); break; } } function myutility_user_login_validate($form_id, $form_values) { user_login_validate($form_id, $form_values); if (count(form_get_errors()) > 0) { drupal_set_message('test error message'); //print "here"; drupal_goto('user'); } } The drupal_goto doesn't seem to work here. I'm fairly confident the code is making it to the drupal_goto because if I uncomment the "print" statement is does get called and prints out "here". Any ideas why drupal_goto isn't working in this case? Thanks for the help.

Hello, I'm Willians, living in Brazil and do not know English law, then not repair the errors. :D I starting the develop for drupal, know a little of PHP, mysql. I am reading the book Pro Drupal Development, and the example of the book "chapter 2", I am not understanding the code right. More specifically, the function where return the datas. that is annotate_nodeapi(&$node, $op, $teaser, $page), when return the result of the database, this code: $node->annotation = db_result($result); No is showing, the result in screnn, should be : $node->content['annotation_form'] = array( '#value' => drupal_get_form('annotate_entry_form', $node->annotation), '#weight' => 10 ); Someone knows where my erros ?? Hi to everyone! I know it is annoying to get this kind of questions to developers, but I am kind of a desperate to START a new multi-lingual, multi-template site with at least Drupal 6.0rc... If I do it now with 5.3 and then switch, I will confuse both editors and designers with change of interface and features in first weeks of use :-( Any ideas when could we see first RC to role out? best wishes - Zeljko

Hello World. The page split code reorganization is nearly done. There's only 3 modules that still need to be reorganized, and all three have patches pending: Trigger: http://drupal.org/node/181576 Comment: http://drupal.org/node/163499 Locale: http://drupal.org/node/187398 The first two should be an easy review for people still getting their feet wet. Locale is a bit tricker because we're reorganizing code out of the locale.inc file, which was being used as a sort of poor-man's page split until now. Please, let's get these committed before someone fixes another bug and I have to redo them yet again! :-) --Larry Garfield

Generate Drupal code from (textfile) specs

At http://drupal.org/project/builder, I have started a module that (currently only) generates a node module from textfile specs. The module uses YAML as its specification language, a simple text format that has become popular as the configuration language for recent MVC frameworks. I believe that exploiting the new APIs in Drupal 6, this approach can be extended to describe a whole Drupal site including installation profiles, views, mappings between taxonomy and menu, theme files etc. The module somewhat contradicts the traditional Drupal way of providing an admin GUI for site configuration. Using text files as input, however, allows me to concentrate on the output side if things. As a benefit, text files can be kept in a code repository. Once the feature set grows richer, maybe the module can even generate its own GUI by creating a set of FAPI data structures. Please, have a look at it and tell me what you think. -- Olav Schettler
