Core developers: Mentor needed. Please!

I still haven't been able to establish a technical mentor for my SoU project. I need a Drupal developer with a fair amount of Drupal karma and a small interest in usability, for this project to be successful. I'll be plain; *I'm directly asking Dries, core developers, and other similarly-respected folk in the Drupal community, for someone who can commit about 3 hours per week for three months.* This is a sizable contribution to Drupal and will result in considerable usability improvements. Context in Drupal 6

Hi, Where should I put this in the handbook? I was running through feature requests, closing them or moving them to 7.x and found one titled "Create a system for storing the 'page context' ". Curiously, Drupal 6.x got this. Let me elaborate. In old times, if you wanted to fire on node view, then you had something like if (arg(0) == 'node' && is_numeric(arg(1)) && !arg(2)) $node = node_load(arg(1)) .... This good but not quite. What if someone adds a link to node/1/foo and acts on foo on nodeapi? The menu system will fall back to node/1... How can you discern between node/1/foo and node/1/edit ? Now you can do this: $router_item = menu_get_item(); if ($router_item['path'] == 'node/%' && $router_item['access']) $node = $router_item['map'][1] ... Now, this piece will, indeed, fire only when you are viewing a node. The additional bonus is that if you are access denied, then the code does not fire. The speed is approximately the same, as menu_get_item is also static cached as node_load. Even, it'll be a very little bit faster because you do not call arg many times. And of course, much more readable -- once you know that map keeps the parts of the path sent to the load functions. And if you act on something which is not statically cached -- practically anything else than a node -- then you will be much faster. Regards, NK

Mail issues in the past 10 hours

SCORM API module

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I'm looking to create a SCORM API module for Drupal. I'm not sure if it would be that difficult to port what Moodle has created or something like that. I know there's some people trying to make Drupal work as an LMS, and I think it would be very powerful. I have some php and module development skills, but a lot of the Scorm api is javascript with some embedded php. Is there anyone that could lend a hand with some of that? Blog API module permissions

Hi, I'm not really sure whether this is the right place to send this, so feel free to point me in the right direction if not. I discovered that the Blog API module (core - optional) lacks an implementation of hook_perm, making it impossible to use for any user other than UID 1. Found running Drupal 5.3, btw. Thankfully (as I am very very new to both Drupal and PHP), this was easy to fix. All that needs to be done is to insert the following into the blogapi.module file somewhere (custom seems to suggest immediately after hook_help?): /** * Implementation of hook_perm(). */ function blogapi_perm() { return array('edit own blog'); } -- - Tony Yarusso http://tonyyarusso.com/

Dynamic forms

I have a simple form to search It contain 2 combos (select) and 1 textfield (to chose: table, field and type a value) Here's the glitch... I have a button to clone (with jQuery) this 3 objects, so my user can set a complex filter, duplicating the first set into N new sets The first set of values works fine, when I submit, the $form_values return the data. The cloned fields are ignored! I try rename my fields with [] at the end, as an array, but in that case, even the first set of values isnt returned. Any idea how to solve that? Thanks Feijó
