HI, Just wondering if there is a project going on with making an install file to drupal? So you just upload your drupal files to your webhotel and then go to your www.yourdomain.com and set up your drupal installation. After succesed installation the normal drupal interface will appear at www.yourdomain.com. Like when you install Gallery2... If it's not the case, I'll be willing to help out here, it would ease up the installation a bit. -- Best Regards René Madsen

CVS accounts

Hello, - I've made a couple of changes to the way CVS accounts are approved. As of now, the CVS password file is automatically updated on the server. This should simplify (and fasten) the process of approving CVS applications. Consequently, we could easily grow the team of people who can administer CVS accounts. - Next step is pruning some stale CVS accounts. I plan to block CVS accounts that have not been used (to commit files) in the past 12 months. Does that sound like a reasonable time frame? - Resetting CVS passwords is still a problem. Fortunately, Gerhard (killes) is extending the cvs.module so that it can be done using a simple form at drupal.org. This should reduce the administration overhead significantly. - We still have to do a fresh import of the CVS repository to fix some database inconsistencies that crept in the past year or two. :/ Chances are that the cvs.module's import code suffers from some bit rot so if someone wants to prepare or test the cvs.module's import code, that would be much appreciated. disclaimer: I wrote DB_Maintenance.module The lines about Optimize module and DB Maintenance are redundant. Both only execute an OPTIMIZE query. The difference is DB Maintenance lets the Drupal admin select which tables to Optimize. Two important patches

Hi! After the rain of commits :) two hours ago a few things got broken. There is a new patch at http://drupal.org/node/42886 , http://drupal.org/files/issues/system_weights_3.patch which moves the adding of weight column to system table from update.inc to very early in update.php -- otherwise the bootstrap in update.php fails. admin/modules is also broken but jakeg http://drupal.org/node/43835 nicely fixed it. So, if you want to spend your Sunday w/ latest HEAD, then apply these. Thanks for your patience and have fun with hacking core! Regards NK

enforce a node preview

Hello, I might be missing something. But I find no way to enforce a preview on a node/add or node/xxx/edit. The only place where I see this used is in project.module, but that one abuses the validation errors, which I don't like. It shows an error, when there is no error at all. Is there another trick to enforce previews? Bèr

No. The form API was a fantastic achievement by Adrian which was refined further during the conversion. Some parts of the core are 'ancient', like their theme function do not use element_children to iterate through the form and so on. On the other hand, we need a 4.7 out of the door so these WILL NOT be fixed. In 4.8, I will kill global $form_values, rest assured.
