I had the version 0.14 which doesn't have msgmerge with the --previous option. gettext 0.16 is good. It sounds kool. I have added KAider to our list: http://drupal.org/node/11131 Unfortunately, I won't be able to use it soon, as I am currently still using KDE3. I'll probably get KDE4 with the next Debian stable version. Say: is Kbabel officially no longer supported? On the kbabel site, there still is the 'port to KDE4' on its roadmap. If KAider is officially the replacement for Kbabel, why not keep the name Kbabel (which I find much better). My first and currently only feature request for KAider, is a good, useful documentation. Kbabel might be a good tool, but its documentation only documents the obvious (like for many KDE applications) and as such it is pretty useless. import previous translation with kbabel

Hello, I am trying to translate some contrib modules into french. My problem is that I don't know how to import a previous, obsolete translation in order to jump start a new up to date translation. I used potx-cli.php to extract the .pot file. I can make: cp general.pot po/fr.po I know how to use kbabel to make a brand new translation (open fr.po with kbabel, translate, save). Now, suppose I have * fr.po -> brand new, empty .po file generated by potx. * fr-old.po -> previous, obsolete, incomplete translation. How do I import (with kbabel) the strings from the previous translation into the new one? How to merge translations for a non-KDE project

Hello, I am trying to use kbabel to translate Drupal modules (drupal.org). I've been searching for a couple of days, but I still don't quite get the workflow and the setups required in order to import an old translation into a new one each time the .pot file is updated. http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/phb/translation.html here is part of the answer but it assumes we are translating a KDE project. I have been reading the kbabel handbook, but like most KDE handbooks, it describes what is obvious but does not explain what is not. If it can help, I can file a bug report at bugs.kde.org. Here are my notes so far: The workflow is unclear. I was looking for 'import translation' but couldn't find anything useful. There is the concept of PO compendium, which is unclear. The default are set for KDE translations. help:/kbabel/compendium.html is not very clear. It doesn't say anything about creating your own compendium. help:/kbabel/dictionaries.html doesn't say how to create a new translation database. Here is what I have: an new, empty fr.po (copy of updated .pot file) an old, partially translated fr-old.po What I was trying to do at first was open fr.po with kbabel and 'import' the old .po file into it... but apparently that's not the way to do it. Part of the procedure is explained in the link above, but I am still missing some important steps. Bulgarian Translation status ?

I would like to know if there are teams or individuals who are working on the Bulgarian translation of the Drupal core. If someone can tell me what is the status of the bulgarian translation? The project which I found about translating Drupal to Bulgarian, seem to be abondoned long time ago. -- () ascii ribbon campaign - against html e-mail /\ www.asciiribbon.org - against proprietary attachments

Google translate

Hello, I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this so let me know if not. I'm working on a site that will be very mulit-lingual. This will be a community site where every node created by a user should be automatically translated into as many languages as possible. I'd like to use a 3rd party online translating service such as bablefish or google (I prefer google). I've tried the internationalization module but the auto translations didn't work for me. Any one know how to go about this, any tips or know of any existing modules? Thanks Idan
