Thanks Gerhard - I checked and couldn't even find theme.inc in my
files

You probably didn't look hard enough, the strings are there. :p
Oh, I doubt not that the strings are there, but I don't even have the file theme.inc. But if the problem is now solved, it's a moot point, and I will download the Afrikaans translation.
