Following on the release announcement of Drupal 5.0 RC1 (http://drupal.org/drupal-5.0-rc1) I have generated the translation templates of this release for all of us to enjoy and work on to make our translations compatible with Drupal 5.0 once it gets released.
As the release announcement says:
It's time to blow the dust off your dictionaries! With all the user interface strings frozen, you can start the translation, without fear you need to redo the work later.
Small string changes are still possible, but not likely (as Dries said a few days ago).
You can grab the templates from CVS: http://cvs.drupal.org/viewcvs/drupal/contributions/translations/drupal-pot/?...
Alternatively, development snapshots of this branch will be available later today on drupal.org: http://drupal.org/node/103435

My name is Renato Pavicic, I'm from Croatia, and I'm a professional translator. While searching for CMS, I've recently learned about Drupal and I discovered that it's really good and I am just setting it up on my site.
I would like to contribute with Croatian localization. I've started on some smaller POT files from v4.7, and then came your announcement about v5! Good work!
I've been wandering is there some deadline for v5? At this moment I cannot promise any date by which I could finish the translation, but I will moste certainly give it a go.

as far as i know, there's no fixed deadline for translations. new ones are added all the time. so, if there's no croatian translation yet, anytime you finish it (for either 4.7.x and/or 5.x) you could add it and it would be much appreciated.
