I think I am lost in this mailing system. I can send post through my favorite web mail. But I could only read post from http://lists.drupal.org/pipermail/translations . I read Konstantin Käfer reply to my post from the same link. But I don't know how to say thanks to him. Drupal 5 Malay translation

My earlier and the very first post was in html format. I didn't realize that I've to do it with plain text. If you can read this than I've done it correctly. Otherwise I cannot post message using bootbox.net. My earlier message: I'm starting a Malay translation for Drupal 5. I wonder if anybody else is doing the same. It will be nice to join efforts. Time to start Drupal 5.0 translations!

Hi, Following on the release announcement of Drupal 5.0 RC1 (http://drupal.org/drupal-5.0-rc1) I have generated the translation templates of this release for all of us to enjoy and work on to make our translations compatible with Drupal 5.0 once it gets released. As the release announcement says: It's time to blow the dust off your dictionaries! With all the user interface strings frozen, you can start the translation, without fear you need to redo the work later. Small string changes are still possible, but not likely (as Dries said a few days ago). Hello translators, due to some bugs in Drupal and the extractor script, certain strings were not included in the translation or did not work properly. The issues are: - http://drupal.org/node/45453 -- String freeze: description for the username field is a bit misleading - http://drupal.org/node/103519 -- Install doesn't allow "." in db prefix for psql sch - http://drupal.org/node/103784 -- Fix misuse of format_plural() in multiple places - http://drupal.org/node/103785 -- Try to fix blog module confusion by proper module description - http://drupal.org/node/103811 -- Replace %url placeholder with @url - http://drupal.org/node/103824 -- extractor.php generates from time interval template - http://drupal.org/node/103826 -- Welcome page is not translateable - http://drupal.org/node/103864 -- Color picker does not work because PHP memory too small -> wrong link in error message - http://drupal.org/node/103937 -- Dropdown list items on mass user editing page not translated - http://drupal.org/node/103946 -- Broken string: ' Character is escaped in the wrong way - http://drupal.org/node/103969 -- Fix permission names in path.module help text More will probably follow as translators discover bugs. These are all very tiny fixes (except for the welcome page which was completely untranslateable before) so they should be done quickly once new translation templates are available (i.e. when all issues are resolved). Convert placeholders in old translations

Hello translators, I wrote a script that checks all the placeholders in old translations and converts them to the appropriate character (!, % or @). The script can be found at http://cvs.drupal.org/viewcvs/*checkout*/ drupal/contributions/tricks/update-placeholders.php Copy the script to your translation files and execute: for i in *.po ; do php update-placeholders.php $i ; done Be sure to make a backup of all your files and check them after the conversion. using localized installer

Hi everybody, I just finished translating intaller.po into italian. How can I using it with the new installer (install.php)? I think that having localized installer means that .po files will be included into the Drupal core.. or not? I had a fast look at the handbook and on the .txt files but not found informations about it. Fabio

ease your installer.po translation

Hi, The POT files published for Drupal 5 RC1 contain an installer.po. This can be used by Drupal in install time from the file system, so that the user can set up Drupal on a translated interface. Since some of the Drupal interface shows up in installation time, the installer.po file shares some strings with other files. Watch out for the file comments above the strings. If a file comment starts with "(duplicate)", it means that you have a translation for that string already done in a different file, so you can (and should) merge your translations from there. Gabor

be careful of placeholders: % ! @

Hi everybody, I would like to point out that Drupal 5 use % ! @ as placeholders in strings, not only % as in previous versions. So be careful about this characters in your translation. I personally noticed that sometime poedit, while updating 4.7 translations with 5.0 pot, consider the same string if only changes the placeholders, marking the string as already translated. Problem in CVS

I'm having this error message when I tray to move the branch: ** ERROR: You are not allowed to delete or move tags that have ** release nodes pointing to them.
