Eric, When i translated Drupal 5.x to Czech on my own, I spent around one week on it. I had some previous translations of 4.7, I guess that without it, i estimate it to 1.5 - 2 weeks. Arabic translation for Drupal 6.x

Often, there are only releases for outdated Drupal versions and there have been a lot of translations projects created that do not have any releases at all. I've made issues at all the projects that are affected by the latter and hope that we can fix this. Otherwise we'll have to unpublish them. If there are difficulties with CVS etc, you can always ask for help either on this list, though the webmaster queue, or you can catch me in IRC. Announcing Nepali Translation of Drupal Core

Hi, Sorry this may be an FAQ, but I couldn't find any answers to this: I'm wondering if we are allowed to claim copyright to translations (and .po files) of any strings in Drupal and its core / contrib modules. I noticed many .po files come with a copyright notice at the top of the files, but since Drupal is licensed under GPL, my understanding is that .po files are derivatives and thus they cannot be copyrighted. I couldn't find a specific answer for Drupal translation files, but did find some sources that my argument is correct (at least in the States) so I'm assuming that is the case: www.linuxjournal.com/article/6366 "A “derivative work” is a work based upon one or more pre-existing works, such as a translation . . .
